So, my internet is slow to load, & every time I search something at a search site it redirects me to a different site… these sites look a lot like spyware sites… Pop-ups & adware keep coming up even tho i have a blocker. I run like 5 different virus removal tools and they all come up with Trojan DNSChanger, I click the button to remove the trojan DNSChanger & it says it is deleted. than 2 seconds later its back….so i think its just not deleting in the first place……

i cant upload anything so im just pasting it.

Hi genna and welcome to the forums here at WTT. No need to upload logs, you can copy and paste them right here unless we end up having some real long ones. First before we do anything a question. Do you have a router? The new Zlob/DNSChanger infections are changing the router settings. Once you advise with that I'll post further instructions. Regards, Dave
It sounds like a case of Zlob/DNSchanger that change the router's DNS settings. Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Next disconnect your system from the internet, and your router, then…

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly.
===============================================

Next you must reset the router to its default configuration. This can be done by inserting something tiny like a paper clip end or pencil tip into a small hole labeled "reset" located on the back of the router. Press and hold down the small button inside until the lights on the front of the router blink off and then on again (usually about 10 seconds). If you don’t know the router's default password, you can look it up HERE

However, if there are other Zlob-infected machines using the same router, they will need to be cleared with the above steps before resetting the router. Otherwise, the malware will simply go back and change the router's DNS settings. You also need to reconfigure any security settings you had in place prior to the reset. Check out this site here for video tutorials on how to properly configure your router's encryption and security settings. You may also need to consult with your Internet service provider to find out which DNS servers your network should be using.

Once you have ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware on the infected system, and reset the router to its default configuration you can reconnect to the internet, and router. Then return to this site to post your logs.

===============================================

Please post the Malwarebytes log and let me know how things are running now.
okay so i followed those steps & the same thing is still happening to my internet…. i removed the trojans…. here is the log Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.30 Database version: 1402 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 11/16/2008 12:37:59 PM mbam-log-2008-11-16 (12-37-59).txt Scan type: Quick Scan Objects scanned: 47970 Time elapsed: 3 minute(s), 46 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 1 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\DhcpNameServer (Trojan.DNSChanger) -> Data: [removed] [removed] [removed] -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. OK a couple of questions…. Are you sure you reset your router as instructed earlier? And are there any other computers on this network? If so are they having the same problem?
I found the reset button on the back of the router and pressed it in for like 20 seconds, but the lights didn't flash on or off… so maybe i didn't reset it… i pressed it in tho…. its a lynksys…. also, yes there is the same problem happening on another computer…
When you say reset, do you mean power button or reset button? It should be a small hole where a paper clip can fit in and push the button. What model router is it? A linksys what?
Ok, what we're finding is that if any of the computers on the network are still infected the router/network will still be infected. Here's what we need to try and do.

Physically disconnect all your systems from the network by disconnecting the cable or turning off your wireless, then…

Run MalwareBytes' on every one of the computers. Instructions next…
  • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
===============================================

===============================================

Please post all of the Malwarebytes logs and let me know how things are running now.
