Hi free_spirit_etc

Common PC Errors
A good Registry Cleaner will clean and repair thousands of types of errors. Some of the more common PC errors include:

Stack Overflow - "Occurs when there is no room for a new item in the hardware registers or ""stack"".
General Protection Fault - Occurs when a program that is running violates the hardware rules in some way.
.exe Error - Often occur during system or program start up due to unneeded files in the Windows registry.
Windows Explorer Error - A dirty registry may cause Windows Explorer to get stuck in a loop.
iExplore or iExplorer Error - An error related to your Internet Explorer browser often causing it to shut down.
System32 Error - An error often caused by missing or corrupt system files.
Windows Installer Error - Caused by 3rd party "shell extensions" resulting in a white screen and/or crash

FIRST:
Backup Your Registry with ERUNT
Please use the following link and scroll down to ERUNT and download it.

HERE

For version with the Installer:
Use the setup program to install ERUNT on your computer
For the zipped version:
Unzip all the files into a folder of your choice.
Click Erunt.exe to backup your registry to the folder of your choice.

Note: to restore your registry, go to the folder and start ERDNT.exe

Finally a reg cleaner that works without paying to clean
after backing up do this next:

I recommend you download RegSeeker.Get it here:

HERE

Extract it to it's own folder, open and double click RegSeeker.exe to start the program. Maximize the window and click clean registry. Check all sections and click OK. When the scan is complete, verify the backup box in lower left corner is checked and click the select all button, then select all again. Then right click within the search results and select delete. Run it a couple times, deleting everything it finds until it finds nothing. Reboot and make sure your programs are working properly, control panel and add/remove programs windows open, etc (basically just do a quick check of everything). In the event anything was 'broken', you can open RegSeeker, click backups and double click any/all files to put the information back. A reboot may be required for the effects to be seen. Reboot When done.
Talk about speeding up the PC?

good luck mschroe919
Thank you. I will try to get all those done tonight. But I just had the 2009 Antivirus thing pop up on my screen again. Last time I tried closing it with the Esc button - and the window opened anyway. THIS time I used control, alt, delete and stopped the program through the task manager. I am wondering why it is still haunting me though….

But I just had the 2009 Antivirus thing pop up on my screen again.

It can be hid in any ad. It wants you to click it so it can install. It did originate from google.

many of us including myself are the same thing. That is why I try to tell everyone to keep their guard up and do ust as you did. I once even went so far as to shut the pc down by using the start button.

Oh..okay… I am certainly glad to know that. NOT glad to know that I, as well as everyone else, have to deal with them. But glad to know that it isn't MY computer that is making them happen. Most often, if something happens on my computer that I don't understand - I head straight to this site!
