HI Deb907,

Since the reboot was not completed some of the infected file were not removed. Please do the following…

ComboFix

Please ownload ComboFix from Here or Here

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. Note: If you are having difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, or are unsure as to what programs need to be disabled, please refer to the information available through this link : Protective Programs
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Hello! Well, today I turned on this computer and checked the taskmanager right away-none of the malware processes turned up in it again. I ran the malware bytes once again and it said all clear now. I am loathe to try anything more as long as the infection seems to be okay right now!!! THANK you! I will sure return to this website in the future for any more advice if it turns up hinky again!!! I don't want to try anything more severe just now since it's his computer he uses to make forms and store reports for work.. he'd actually cry if I crashed it just now!
Hi Deb907, It’s your choice to close it out now, however I would recommend following through with my advice until I give you the all clear. Having no current symptoms does not mean the infection is gone. I know you are concerned about losing your system, but if it makes you feel any better I haven’t lost one yet (knock on wood :) ) Just let me know what you want to do
Hi

Just so you are aware, I will be going out of town this weekend. We are heading to Philadelphia to catch the Eagles game, so my access to a computer will be limited if at all, I will be returning on Monday evening. However I will be online tonight and most of the day tomorrow, so if you stay consistent we should be able to get you sorted before I leave.

Anyway I just wanted to let you know incase you don’t hear from me this weekend :)

Thanks
