Hi, Seems to be much better now. While you're reviewing I am especially concerned about a WKSVCSC.EXE program I seen running in Task Manager. I guess its a part of the IRCBot family (?). I've also read there is a possibility that some type of infection could cause my Control C key not to work (which it isn't). Let me know what you find. Thanks immensely!
Hi I still am missing some of your log irt is not complete. Please instaed of using the attachmet way. When your log is open go to top and click on edit, then click on select all. Next open word pad go to run type in wordpad.exe and click ok. when open go to to again click on paste. Now when that is done highlite it all and copy, then in the forum reply right click and click paste. this is the only way I will see your whole log please mschroe919 PS don't do anything with WKSVCSC.EXE as yet. I have a certain fix for it, but I need to see the rest of the log for variants.

Hi ILgirl,

There is a lot of work this is a start

FIRST
Rename HijackThis

There maybe an infection which is hiding when hijackthis.exe is run
we have to change the name as follows:

Please rename hijackthis.exe to scanner.exe
Here is how:
go to

C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe

right click on HijackThis.exe
click on rename and rename it scanner.exe

It will look like this now:

C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\scanner.exe

After the name changing the name it will still apear some times as hjt

NEXT

Lets install this SDFix

SDFix Instructions:
Please print these instructions as they will be needed later when Internet access is not available.

Logon to your computer with an account that has Administrator privileges.

Download SDFix.exe from the following link and save it to your desktop:
get it:

HERE:

Confirm that the file SDFix.exe now resides on your desktop, but do not double-click on the icon as of yet. We will use it in later steps. The icon will look like the one below:

[external image: Posted Image]

Now, double-click on the SDFix icon that should now be residing on your desktop. If a Open File - Security Warning box opens, click on the Run button.

A window will open asking where you would like to install SDFix to.

[external image: Posted Image]

Do not change anything and press the Install button. This will install the program into the default location of C:\SDFix. At this point, you should not run SDFix, but insteacontinue to the next step where you will reboot into safe mode
Next, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode by doing the following:
Restart your computer

After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
When you are at the logon prompt, log in as the same user that you had
performed the previous steps as.
When your computer has started in safe mode, and you see the desktop, close all open Windows.

Click on the Start button, click on the Run menu option, and type the following into the Open: field:

C:\SDFix\RunThis.bat

Then press the OK button.

The SDFix window will open, as shown below, containing some brief info and a disclaimer on the use of the tool.

[external image: Posted Image]

If you want to continue, please press the Y key on your keyboard and then press enter. Otherwise, you can press the N key to exit the program.

SDFix will now start scanning your computer for known infections as seen in the image below

This process can take a while, so you may want to do something else and periodically check back on the status of SDFix. As the scanning process continues you will continue to see new messages on the screen as shown in the figure below.

[external image: Posted Image]

When the scanning process has finished you will see a new screen stating that you need to restart your computer in order to continue.

[external image: Posted Image]

At this point you should press any key on your computer's keyboard in order to restart the computer.

When your computer reboots, you will be presented with a screen stating that SDFix has finished.

[external image: Posted Image]

At this point you should press any key on your computer's keyboard in order to continue to your desktop.

When you are back at your Windows desktop, the SDFix log will automatically be opened in notepad.

[external image: Posted Image]

first copy and paste the log here
then close the Notepad window.
then post a new log using the new named hjt

Now that SDFix has finished running, any Worms or Trojans that it knows how to remove should have been deleted from your computer.

there is still more to do but little at a time
good luck mschroe919
