So my computer has been acting really odd lately, at sudden times a box pops up and says that my system has to shut down. Then it automatically gives me 1:00 to save what I have up and then reboots. This is really annoying and has never happened before 2weeks ago. If you could check over the Hijack this file and see if anything is wrong it would be very helpful!
Thanks!

Hi cornbeef,

please do the following….

ComboFix

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
  • Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
  • Close any open browsers.
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

    ———————————————————–

    • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
    • Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.

      ———————————————————–

    • Close any open browsers.
    • WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
    • Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
    • If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.

    ———————————————————–

  • Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

Also let me know how things are running now :thumbup:
I don't know what anti-virus or malware programs I have on my computer. the only icon I have is for MaCafee OAS. Other than that I have no idea. Is this a problem?
So I can't figure out how to disable my McAfee OAS. I right click it and the icon to disable it isn't higlighted. But, if my cursor is over the symbol it says that it is enabled. It just seems to be like a scanner or something. I don't really know what it is. I am sorry to seem so dense but I can't figure it out and last time something was wrong with my computer I didn't follow it right and the person got really mad at me because I could have damaged my computer like what.
First the ComboFix…

I see you still have some processes running from Symantec/Norton I guess you had that on your system at one time. It never seems to uninstall all the way so we have a tool for that.

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

Please visit Symantec support by clicking HERE

Choose the Norton product you had installed.

Then follow the steps listed on the page that opens.

===============================================

Update Java

Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.
Upgrading Java:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7.
  • Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Select your Platform and check the box that says: "I agree to the Java SE Runtime Environment 6 License Agreement.".
  • Click on Continue.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation (jre-6u7-windows-i586-p.exe) and save it to your desktop. Do NOT use the Sun Download Manager..
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java version.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version.
===============================================

Kaspersky WebScanner

  • Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
  • It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
  • When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
  • Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:
    • Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
      Archives
      Mail databases
  • Click on My Computer under Scan.

Yeah you got yourself re-infected…please do the following…

SDFix
Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
    (Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
  • Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log
===============================================

After that rerun combofix that I already had you download and post a new log.

Also be sure not to download anything unless I tell you, and don't use your computer for anything until we get it clean. It’s a waste of time for me to try and clean your system, and your doing nothing but re-infecting it in the time it takes you to reply. Also you are running the risk of damaging your system beyond repair.
