Hello,

I have concerns that my computer may have some malware/spyware issues other than the ones found in my last scans. PestPatrol via Comcast found "downloader" called KoolyNoody. It said it was removed. Spybot found "microsoft.windows.security.internet.explorer.zip and fixed it. My ZoneAlarm Security Suite (my main spyware, virus and firewall program) has found nothing and it scans everyday.
So I'm a bit concerned that these issues were not found by ZA! I'm worried that ZA may be letting things "out" of my computer but the event logs do not show anything.

In any case, I thought it a good idea to send a HijackThis log to the experts here to see if there are any issues I should be worried about. Thank a bunch, catldy

Hi czcat2,

I'm sorry it's taken so long for you to get a response!

So I'm a bit concerned that these issues were not found by ZA!

No one malware scanner can detect everything, and each product detects different things, so the results you describe aren't all that unusual. From this I hope you can see that malware scanners are far from infallible, and that prevention through safe practices is very important.

Download RSIT by random/random to your Desktop (right-click the link, select Save Target As…, select your Desktop and press Save)

  • Double click RSIT.exe to start the program, and click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • When the scan is complete, two text files will open - log.txt <- this one will be maximized and info.txt <-this one will be minimized
  • Make sure Format->Word Wrap is unchecked
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of log.txt and info.txt in your reply

Once complete, please post both RSIT logs, you won't need to produce a new HijackThis log as RSIT produces one for you.
Also, let me know if you are experiencing any symptoms and how your machine is running at present.
Do you still need help with your machine? If the instructions are unclear or something isn't working, please let me know before proceeding.
