I suggest you run SFC Scan as detailed below. You will need your OS CD to accomplish this as stated.
Windows Protected System File Checker SFC
Start
Run
type:sfc /scannow (note the space between c /)
Have your Win XP installation disc handy as if damaged files are found they will need to be copied across from your disc, if SFC can't find correct copies elsewhere.
Windows XP Installation disc not available or wrong Service Pack - SP1 when SP2/SP3 is needed
There are work- arounds to this problem but the easiest, by far is to borrow one and use that. It is perfectly OK to do this, for the purposes of running SFC,and if you ask around all your friends, you are likely to find someone who will be able to help you out.

SFC no disc, no friends able to help.
Well you will need to do it the harder way and as a registry edit will be required it is essential that you back up your registry before you do anything else. Then in the event of trouble it will be easier to repair your registry. Download ERUNT from here: (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/erunt.html) and take a moment to familiarise yourself with the programme and how to repair your registry with it if it should become necessary. At the same time it would be wise to create a System Restore point, post back here if you need instructions on how to do this.
For the alterations needed to run SFC If you go here (http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html) you will find detailed instructions on the copying of files and the system changes you need to make. When you have followed all the instructions, reboot you machine and try to run SFC again, and please let us know how you go.

How do i back up my registry key again? sorry i forgot , also is it normal that my cpu usage goes to like 100% when i barely even use some of my components? cause i just noticed that when i was using itunes to hear music it kept going to 100% for like every minute and my music wasn't playing right, and it didn't do that before it got damaged, I'll get to making a restore point right now, Thanks very much for trying to help me out,
If you have not already done it, leave the Systems Restore at this point in time. It will be more beneficial for you to run the SFC scan. Remember you had

I finished erunts and everything you said but it seems only that things load a little faster but everything's basically the same things are still sketchy, my cpu goes to 100 every minute, and the sound is bad still, one of the main reasons my computer is acting like this is probably the cpu problem, when i hear music for like10 seconds then out of nowhare the cpu goes to like 90 then 100 and basicall makes the sound, sound bad. the same with videos mouse pointer and anything that seems to load or command, is there any other way to fix these problems??
Yea i do, but i don't think its limewire, i barely even use it, I think it just has to do with my latop being slow, mostly somethings making it slow but i dont know what it is. In safe mode it works pretty good, but in normal its just to slow and half of the time my mouse pad doesnt work making me shut down each time it happens.
Hi,
Ok I understand,
File sharing is a well known vector for the distribution of malicious code and large numbers of machines are infected by this route, the effects can be devastating and sometimes a format and reinstall of the operating system is necessary……For these reasons I recommend that you uninstall all P2P file sharing or similar applications, Limewire, utorrent . Ares et.

- Startup takes a long time: up to 15 minutes before it let's us actually do anything.
- It distorts any sound that is being played. Especially when anything else is happening on the computer. For instance when just playing music through itunes it is near perfect (with only the odd stutter). But if I then scroll through the list of songs it will badly stutter the music with the timing of my scroll. Even more so the sound is unbearable when watching a movie through any player.
- Loading programs, folders and even just browsing the internet is very slow.

This is a perfect example!!!!!
Hi,
There's no telling what damage the malicious code has done to your machine, and it's always possible that some critical files have been corrupted.
For this reason I recommend the following strategy.
1 first back up all your data and settings, in fact everything that is important to you on your machine ( keep it safe on removable media.)
2 Run chkdsk /r (Do this at least twice)
3 Run sfc /scannow
4 Uninstall your Windows media Player
5 Download a fresh copy and reinstall your Windows Media player
Don't forget you will need to reboot between each of the above steps.
Post back if you need more detailed information on how to proceed.
