LittleEagle, Thank you for such a fast reply! Yes, my specific issue is I cannot get to my Sacramento State college website on any browser. I NEED my colege website beause I commute to school, etc. My IE browser will go straight to a search page with the school's site's listed, then once a link is clicked, "cannot find webpage or server" error. Used to be a google searchpage, now it's MSN since I reset the homepage. My wireless networked laptop does it too. Every once in awhile, I will magically get to my sac state page, for it to fail later in the day. It says possibly a DNS error or it cannot reach the server at csus.edu (my school website). My ISP provider cannot find an issue. Is VISTA the issue or is it malware I wonder? I have a Netgear router (possibly not fully compatible with vista) but today I bypassed the router and I am only connected to my ISP through their modem. On the laptop I re-loaded the Vista OS (ugh), but the sac state we site will not come up as of now. The only thing the two computers had in common (both new), is that I transferred files and programs from my old computer to them (most likely the big mistake). So those files are on either a D:/ Drive or as Windows.old. A few successes happened when I deleted browser history (on IE) or reset the internet settings, but it only lasted a short while. Anther time I went into the firewall(Windows LiveCare running only) and I turned on under ports and protocols: ICMPv4 inbound. I since unchecked that box because that answer stoped working as well. I now have to turn in over to the experts. (You). :-) I'm not sure whether to throw my pc out the window or what! Just kidding...I just don't know whether to call the school again, Microsoft, Netgear, or call for a 3rd time & get stern with my ISP provider ( a T1 line throughout my apartments)! After doing that end that start Internet Explorer Sacramento State college website. Then click on the tools tab on the Internet Explorer under the General tab click use current and click OK to exit.
This should take you to the webpage anytime you start Internet Explorer.

After deleting what you suggested, the homepage went to msn.com, then I typed in csus.edu and I still get the msn search for CSUS.edu. I,ve tried saving the csus.edu age when it worked efore, but it still went back to not working. Here is my newest hijack log file now:

Then download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

Thanks LittleEagle, Well, I took my laptop to my Campus helpdesk yesterday and all he had to know was that I had Vista. He told me if I was thinking about changing back anyway, then change my laptop back to XP (as it was configured for anyway). Of course I will have to find the instructions for the downgrade. Grrr. But I was thinking I will have to call Microsoft regarding my Vista desktop. Something to do with the protocols for Vista not wanting to pull up my campus website. I DID do what you suggested, I had always been using CCleaner so there wasn't much to delete there, but I did use the ATF one as you said and MalwareBytes. My F:/ was infected with this baidu bug (below); my F:/ drive holds some of my backed up documents and that RECOVERY section of Vista with a little gold lock icon. Can I delete that F:/ Recovery stuff and start over? Also, my Flash player wasn't working.... and I have shockwave homework to do! LOL. Could this infected file have something to do with that? Download Flash_Disinfector.exe by sUBs[/b] from HERE and save it to your desktop.

• Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it and follow any prompts that may appear.
