i tried out a "fix" in this forum and it messed my laptop up.

if you cant view that what it said was

1. open msconfig
2. go to boot tab and click advanced
3. change the number of processors to the number of cores and your processor.

i changed mine to two.

this does not work. when i did this and tried to restart my computer i could not log on to vista. the hp manager came on. i tried to use the built in hp program to fix and then restore the system and it would not work. every time i rebooted it kept taking me to the recovery manager i couldnt even get to the vista log in screen. in the hp program one of the other options was to run using command prompt. does anyone know a comand that will change vistas setting to run on only one processor so i can actually boot vista and change the double boot processor settings? or a command to change the settings its self? its not booting because i changed it to boot on 2 processors. please pm me or email me at XXXXXXXXX
