OK, several issues going on here.

1) Can't connect to the internet. It's a wireless router, no security encryption. It connects to the internet, but Internet Explorer won't connect to any sites. I get an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. Funny thing is that it occassionally connects just fine. It used to be sporatic when it DIDN'T connect, but now it's pretty rare when it DOES connect. and I know it's not the internet connection because my work laptop connects to the net just fine (which is how I'm posting this log in the first place).

2) The computer is just generally slow. (Aren't they all!) Would love to know if there were things running that doesn't need to be, or things I could stop/not have run at startup.

3) This is the big one. The computer has started to get the Blue Screen of Death quite alot. It typically happends when I come back from a Stand By, but it can really happen at any time. Just yesterday I was on my computer for a while and in the middle of working, it went Blue Screen on me. The Blue Screen then forces a reboot. And when it starts back up, my resolution has been reset to it's lowest level of 800 x 600. BTW, I have this UNCHECKED: My Computer > Sytem properties > Advanced > Startup and recovery > System Failure > Automatically restart. Therefore, wouldn't the blue screen not force a reboot?


I don't know if this had an affect, but at one point soon before the sh*t really hit the fan, I ran a Disk Cleanup and compressed old files, then ran a Defrag. I've done that before several times, but could that have had an affect?
