Hello,
I accidentally ended up on the type of site I wouldn't ordinarily visit after doing an image search and was notified by Trend I had recieved the following virus Mal_Hrfrm-2 and that Trend could not remove it. I searched the address it gave with hidden files off but could not locate it to remove it and it was not in quarantine.
Since then I notice when I open a word document and close it there is a warning that the normal template has been changed - even when I do nothing - and clicking cancel opens more windows until I hit cancel a few more times.
My outlook stopped sending mails out.
Three times I tried a roll back to three different dates prior to the infection but they would not complete themselves and no changes were made.
I did notice on a subsequent date after the date of infection that a Printer Driver Amyuni PDF Converter had been installed the date prior to the virus and don't recollect installing that but I possibly could have if it was needed from a trusted site.
I ran Registry Mecanic and saw nothing extraordinarily unusual but allowed it to repair anyway.
I ran Trends spyware and virus and it found a cookie and I removed it.
I ran another scan of all and found nothing.
Also, Things are a bit squirrely in general without more details I just notice things not working promtly or acting up a bit.
I assumed I still have the virus. I downloaded Hijack This. I ran the log and here I am after looking at it and only seeing a couple of things I could not identify as having been on my computer for a long time or identified as something I recognized as a legitimate program..
If anyone sees anything suspicious I would certainly appreciate hearing about it. I am unfortunately preparing for a long term trip and will only have access to my computer via a program I was about to install and won't be here to follow up in a few days so if I could hear soon that would be most helpful.
Thanks for any help! I am beside me self to get this fixed.
