Hello again i posted a topic describing my problem with the gaelicum virus already but i didnt get a reply for some time so i stopped looking for one, i was told if the problem persists to repost this topic with a HJT log. I got rid of all the infections but every once in a while, the computer will be idle for a few min and AVG says theres a system restore file infected with the virus. Here is my HJ file thank you so much for your assistance..

hi,

AVG says theres a system restore file infected with the virus

you can make a new restore point. only do this after malware is removed and not on a regular basis:

One of the features of Windows ME,XP and Vista is the System Restore option, however if malware infects a computer it is possible that the malware could be backed up in the System Restore folder. Therefore, clearing the restore points is a good idea after malware is removed.

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

(winXP)

1. Turn off System Restore. (deletes old possibly infected restore point)
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.(new restore points on a clean system)
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK, then reboot

Viewpoint = foistware, not malware: installed as a third party add-on. can be removed via add/remove programs panel.
