thank you very much for your time. if you need the SDfix log file i have that too
Are you having any particular problems, or is this just for a look-see? There's no point in searching for something that doesn't exist, is there.
well i have this trojan on my computer and every time i open up windows IE or windows explorer it pops up a window that says my computer is infected with a serious virus and i need to go and download some software and to do so click OK. it's a horrible nagging screen. i checked my computer at trend micro and it said i had a trojan that could not be removed by them. so i did a look up and searched and found out that i have what is called net project on my computer. which led me here. where i followed the directions (here http://forums.whatthetech.com/How_To_Remov…ect_t90730.html ) on how to remove it. at one point in the thread which explains how to remove it it says to post the logfile here to let the experts take a look at it to see if anything is there or wrong or what. i do not know what to look for. so this is where i am at. also today after using the SDfix and scanning with hijackthis, i opened up internet explorer and sure enough that nag screen is still there. it doesnt affect my firefox, only internet explorer and windows explorer.

i hope this helps a bit more

thank you for your time :)

ok i think thats all of what you wanted. if you need anything else please let me know

thank you again

- robin

Let me know how the PC is behaving.

While the various logs you post tell me a lot, they don't tell me everything - that's where you come in. If there's a lime green monkey sat on your monitor throwing peanuts at you, I want to know about it - piccys would be good in cases such as this too!
i did tell you in my second post and i also did extactly as you told me in your post before this.

here is the easiest way to show you

[external image: Posted Image]

this only happens when i open windows explorer or internet explorer. this screen pops up repeatedly. i counted 33 times just trying to get to my hotnail. just one time for instance. it also seems to slow theme two things down as well. it happened EVERY time i click on something in windows explorer or IE, not just when i open them.

my computer restarts randomly at times but i think it might be getting a bit warm. i suspect i might need a new fan or case. but just incase it could be related to this or some other issue, i will let you know.

thank you again

-robin

i did tell you in my second post.

That you did, but unfortunately this information may be out-of-date given that you have run ComboFix since then - that's why i'll ask if I think that there could or should be an improvement.

my computer restarts randomly at times but i think it might be getting a bit warm.

Sounds like it could be a heat issue.

1) Download SmitfraudFix.exe by S!Ri from here and save it to your Desktop.

If you already have a copy, open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Press "4" and then to check for updates.
Don't forget to allow SmiUpdate.exe access through your firewall.
Once it has updated, or if there are no updates available, continue with the scan, "option 1", below.

2) Double click SmitfraudFix.exe - this will open a Command Window and also create the SmitfraudFix folder on your Desktop. Once you have read the information, "press any key to continue…"
Press "1" and then to start the search process.
When the search has completed, a text file, rapport.txt, will open with the results in - Copy and paste this report into your next reply.

A copy of the report can be found in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed.
For most, this file can be found by double-clicking My Computer and then Local Disk (C:)

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Please Note: Some security programs will incorrectly identify this tool as potentially or actually malicious due to some of it's components. Although these files can be used maliciously, they are an integral part of the fix and I recommend you tell your scanner to mind it's own business this time.
ok here are the results. i just tried to open my IE and it is now not having that pop up screen!! maybe it's from one of the processes you asked me to do earlier and didnt realize it. Sounds like CF may have done the job. The following should pick up any stragglers that have been overlooked:

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here and save it to your Desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • Ensure a checkmark is placed next to both Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version - you'll need to clear it with your firewall.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan and then Scan.
  • When the scan has finished, click OK and then Show Results to view the results - no surprise there!
  • If MBAM finds anything, check the box(es) and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
Let me have the MBAM log, a fresh HJT log (run in Normal Mode) AND a description of how your PC is behaving.
