Hi
Desktop screen on my PC changed to blue suddenly with bugs crawling on the screen. After searching through the forums, ran SuperAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes AntiMalware and ComboFix. It looked like it solved the issue, but scans by a2 keep findings Trojans and PC has slowed down. I would like to make sure that all malware and virus has been removed. Please help.

ComboFix log is as below.

Hello lastknightmd

Welcome to the Whatthetech Malware Removal Forum

Why would you run a powerful tool like Combofix without knowing anything about it, you ran it incorrectly, lucky it did not bork your system.

Download Trendmicros Hijackthis to your desktop.
Double click it to install
Follow the prompts and by default it will install in C:\Program Files\Trendmicro\Hijackthis\Highjackthis.exe

  • Open HJT Scan and Save a Log File, it will open in Notepad
  • Go to Format and make sure Wordwrap is Unchecked
  • Go to Edit> Select All…..Edit > Copy and Paste the new log into this thread by using the Post Reply and not start a New Thread.
DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Ken

Hello,

You have TWO ANTI VIRUS PROGRAMS installed, BitDefender and Avast, ,this is not recommended as more than one is overkill , will slow your system down and can cause issues at times, your call but you need to uninstall one of them via the Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows including this one, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [lphc7quj0erdg] C:\WINDOWS\system32\lphc7quj0erdg.exe

Please download OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it.
  • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\lphc7quj0erdg.exe

  • Return to OTMoveIt, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • Copy everything on the Results window to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it on your next reply.
  • Close OTMoveIt
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.<– Don't forget this
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a Hijackthis log.

Post the OTMoveIt log, the Malwarebytes log and a New HJT log please, they most likely will not fit all in one reply so take as many replies as you need by using the Add Reply.
Ken

Thanks for your prompt reply.
Regarding the anti-virus, Avast is realtime while BitDefender is only on-demand.
Isn't it true that its not a good idea to have 2 anti-virus running real-time which would cause conflicts?
In this case, I only have one running real-time. Thoughts?

Ken Results of OTMoveIt are as below: File/Folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\lphc7quj0erdg.exe not found. OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer - Version 1.0.4.2 log created on 06222008_231910 I will post the MBAM log tomorrow.
Good Morning, What your saying about the two AVs is true but if you look at the 023 entries on your HJT log, there both running in the back ground as a service even when your not scanning with either one. Removing one is just a suggestion for better performance, having more than one will really not accomplish anything so its totally up to you if you want to keep them both. You also have two firewalls installed and thats not recommended either, you have the Comodo firewall and also Online Amour, this is your call also. You can have one software and one hardware ( from say your router) firewall but not two software. Both of these firewalls are also running at the same time as you can see in your HJT log under the 023 entries. Both AVs and Firewalls are starting when windows starts per your 04 entries on your log. I am just pointing this out to you, no need for discussion as this forum is for removing malware only. Keep in mind that you posted about a blue screen, I am not saying two AVs and two Firewalls are causing this but they very well could be. I will wait for the malwarbytes log before we see if there is anymore to do, post a new HJT log AFTER you run Malwarebytes Ken :)

Hello,

Your log looks fine Malwarewise, but this is what I am trying to point out to you about the Firewalls and Antivirus programs.

Don't remove these with HJT, I am just pointing these out.

Two Anti Virus Programs downloaded and installed or installed from a disk
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4
C:\Program Files\Softwin\BitDefender10

Two Firewalls downloaded and installed or installed from a disk

C:\Program Files\Tall Emu\Online Armor
C:\Program Files\Comodo\CBOClean

When windows starts there all starting up
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BDMCon] "C:\Program Files\Softwin\BitDefender10\bdmcon.exe" /reg
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BDAgent] "C:\Program Files\Softwin\BitDefender10\bdagent.exe"

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [OnlineArmor GUI] "C:\Program Files\Tall Emu\Online Armor\oaui.exe"

Even though your not running the program with scans there still running in the background

So the ball is in your court, how are things running now??
I think, things are okay now. Truely appreciate your assistance. I will run a scan with a2 and provide feedback. On a separate note, if uninstalling BitDefender, what online Antivirus scan would youu recommend for a second line of defence?
You would still have this and its more than adequite. I can't seem to get through to you that you only need one, its not only my recommedation but its also all the AV Software vendors along with Microsoft

C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4
