hi vvboysetsfirevv,

download and run sdfix, needs to run in safe mode. post the log it generates.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

http://downloads.and...Tools/SDFix.exe

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

* Restart your computer
* After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
* Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
* Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
* Choose your usual account.

* Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
* Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
* It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
* Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
* When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
* Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
* Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

hi,

ok we will get one more download to run. post the log it generates please.

Download combofix from one of these links and save it to your Desktop:

http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe
http://download.blee...Bs/ComboFix.exe

Now double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze.
How Can I Reduce My Risk?

hi vvboysetsfirevv

thanks for the info. lets get a file checked out. to help show all files you can do this:

FOr XP: on the desktop double click my computer,go to tools>folder options>view> then select "show hidden files and folders", then UNcheck "hide protected operating system files " also UNcheck "hide extensions for known file types" click apply to all folders, apply then ok

navigate to the C:\windows\system32 dir and see if you can find:

ntlink.dll

if so, go to the website below, browse for the file on your computer, then upload it to the web site using the send button. you can copy/paste the results in your next reply

That website does not seem to be working. When I tried to upload the file it sends me to a page saying "0 bytes size received". I cannot get anything to load on there. Any ideas?

hi vvboysetsfirevv, thanks for the info. you can delete it: before using hjt you will have to disable spybots tea timer, sometimes it can interfere with changes that hjt makes. to do that: 1. Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode. 2. If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode" 3. On the left hand side, Click on Tools 4. Then click on the Resident Icon in the List 5. Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts. 6. Restart your computer. next: start HJT, click the "Scan" button. check the items below, close any open windows, then click "Fixed checked" O21 - SSODL: Deleng - {C5FA1295-7A6A-48FA-BF0E-EA839A0E4613} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntlink.dll reboot and post one more hjt log. hows it looking on your end?

Heres the latest HJT log. Things seem to be running much smoother on my end, Task Manager is working again and I haven't seen any pop-up messages in a while.

I think so. There are quite a few things running on my task manager that I have no idea what they are, but other then that and the fact that my audio control panel is missing, things are good from what I can tell.

I just received a new message from Trend Micro PC-Cillin. It detected a file named Cryp_Xed-3 in C:\QuooBox\Quartine\C\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\Jdh33.sys.vir

hi,

C:\QuooBox\Quartine\C\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\Jdh33.sys.vi

thats combofix's quarantine folder. we will remove that later.

There are quite a few things running on my task manager

the majority of those are windows OS files and any software thats running. i have 30 processes showing now in taskmgr.

my audio control panel is missing

look in your start>programs list or start>control panel>sounds and audio devices
------------------------------------------------
you can remove combofix like this:
start>run and type in combofix /u click ok
note the space after the x and before the /

you can delete the original sdfix archive you downloaded as well as the folder in the default install location C:/

some info for you:

My Top Ten
The Short Version:

1) Keep your OS, browser and software up to date.
2) Know what you are installing to your computer. Do you trust the source?
3) Install, keep updated: antivirus and one or two anti-malware applications.
4) Dont click on adds/pop ups or offers from websites to install software.
5) Dont click on offers to "scan" your computer.
6) Dont click on links or install files you receive via E-Mail, IM, Chat Rooms or Social Sites, no matter how tempting the message. Do you trust the source?
7) Set up and use limited accounts rather than administrator accounts.
8) Consider using an alternate browser and E-mail client.
9) Install and understand the limitations of a third party software firewall.
10) If your habits include visiting or installing files from: warez, cracks/keygens, P2P or adult sites you are much more likely to encounter malicious code. Do you trust the source?
