Hello Capritorn and welcome to the What the Tech Forums

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your problem.

One or more of the identified infections is a trojan password stealer.

According to the definitions found on the Kaspersky site: http://www.viruslist...irusesdescribed

PSW Trojans

This family of Trojans steals passwords, normally system passwords from victim machines. They search for system files which contain confidential information such as passwords and Internet access telephone numbers and then send this information to an email address coded into the body of the Trojan. It will then be retrieved by the 'master' or user of the illegal program.

Some PSW Trojans steal other types of information such as:

* System details (memory, disk space, operating system details)
* Local email client
* IP-address
* Registration details
* Passwords for on-line games

I would advise you to disconnect this PC from the Internet, and then go to a known clean computer and change any passwords or security information held on the infected computer. In particular, check whatever relates to online banking financial transactions, shopping, credit cards, or sensitive personal information. It is also wise to contact your financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.

We will do our best to clean the computer of any infections seen on the log after you have completed the above tasks. Just post back within the week and we will help you clean up your computer.

Regards,

Trevuren

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
    (Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
  • Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

There is a more to fix but before we go any farther:

You don't appear to be running any anti-virus software

Anti-virus software are programs that detect, clean, and/or erase harmful virus files on a computer. Unchecked, virus files can unintentionally be forwarded to others, and thereby spread infection. Keeping your anti-virus updated is essential.

Please download a free anti-virus software from one these vendors NOW:
It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts.

After you have installed the program, please provide me with a fresh HijackThis log.

I am sorry but as previously stated, I will not proceed without you having an AntiVirus program on your machine. AVG Anti-Spyware is not an Antivirus. To help you clean your machine without it having adequate protection will just result in you coming back again for more help and frankly, we do not have the resources to waste our time cleaning systems that we know will get infected again very easily.
