Hey there, i understand you may be super busy so will try to make this as compact yet detailed as possible. Yesterday i downloaded a few things on my computer, like upgrading from .NET 2.0 framework to the 3.5 after i downloaded new graphic drivers and saying that I needed to upgrade the framework. I then started getting a lot of IE popups and noticed a new icon on my desktop for AntiSpywareMaster that kept popping up telling me i was infected and needed to get the full version. I, of course, did research only to find that this was not a legit spyware program so i then proceded to search for solutions. I downloaded spybot s&D as well as ad-aware free from Lavasoft. I ran both of those and let them clear what they could but still had smitfraud and virtumonde, as well as command service and the antispywaremaster was still on my computer. i found a couple of guides from the bleepingcomputer forums which guided me through the vudofix, smitfraudfix, and virtumundobegone but none of those cleared up the problem (I did not open a topic with them). So last night after work i ran ad-aware and spybot again. When i went to immunize my computer just froze up so i turned it off. This morning I started it, ran spybot, picked up a few more bots, cleared them out and went to immunize and again my computer froze up. I did a little research on my other computer and found that this site was rated highly so decided to come to you. I saw your sticky for posting the HJT so proceded to follow the directions. I ran the ATFcleaner, cleared up like 48MB of space, went to do spybot again and it froze up again….when i restarted my computer it was extremely slow (just figured that it was from the ATFcleaner since it said it would be slow after reboot) but now i can't pull up firefox, IE, my windows security says there's no firewall enabled. I would just wipe the HDD and reinstall but it's such a PITA and so wanted to see if there was anything else i could do >< Anyways, let me know if there's anything y ou think i would be able to do other than reinstalling XP. Because i can't pull up the internet i might be able to open a HJT log and copy it by hand so you have something to look at, but i'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THanks in advance,
Jey
I found out that my computer is processing things very slow. The firefox browser took about 20 minutes to pull up, the task manager took about that long as well. I rebooted in safe mode with networking, was able to run a HJT so here's my log:
