Hi i have the same problem as the guy had on this earlier post http://forums.whatthetech.com/trojan_or_ma…ml&p=448209

When I turn my computer on, after I log on. A system error box opens up in the center of the page saying "Your computer was infected by unknown trojan It's dangerous for your system [critical files can be lost] click ok to download the antispyware program to clean your computer." If you click ok, A file download box opens and asks if your want to run or save the program. It says it's from 89.149.227.195 I googled the number ad it goes to www.files-secure.com If I use Internet exployer, the system error box comes up every time I change screens, but it only pops up when I turn my computer on otherwise. Can someone help me please…..

Im not good enough on comps to be able to decipher exactly what to do from this earlier post to get the problem off my machine and am hoping for a little help please.
I downloaded HJT and have copy and pasted the results from notepad below
Thanks mike,

Hi redlobster215,

Please print/save a copy of the following instructions because we will be using Safe Mode, during which time you won't have access to the internet.

Please download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder (usually Start->My Computer->C:->SDFix and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop (right-click the link, select Save Target As…, select your Desktop and press Save)
  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  • Make sure Format->Word Wrap is unchecked
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your reply

Once complete, please post the SDFix report and both DSS logs, you won't need to produce a new HijackThis log as DSS produces one for you.
The logs may not fit into one post so please check that they are complete and use multiple posts if necessary.
Hi, firstly thanks for taking the time to help me out, its very much appreciated!

The report from SDFix is below, followed by the main.txt from DSS however I do not get the window of extra.txt, I did a search on my comp of all the files for it but nothing showed up.

Also after getting the report from SDFix a McAfee window popped up saying

McAfee strongly recommends that you click yes to select McAfee Security Centre as your default Security Centre. If you click no McAfee and Windows Security centre will be enabled, which might result in duplicate security status messaging.

Just in case it was needed for the next process i choose to have them both on but would prefer just mcaffe instead of duplicate messages so let me know if I can turn Windows SC off now.

Ive been on internet explorer and also tried opening a few files etc and there is no sign of the problem that used to be there so I think all is well now thanks to you!

Hi redlobster215,

SDFix just restored the default Windows Security Center setting, you can turn it off if you wish.

Please open HijackThis, choose Do a system scan only and place a checkmark next to the following line:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

Then close all open windows apart from HijackThis, press Fix checked, OK the prompt and close HijackThis.

Next, download F-Secure Blacklight to your Desktop (right-click the link, select Save Target As…, select your Desktop and press Save)
  • Double click fsbl.exe to run it, choose I accept the agreement then press Scan
  • It will create the fsbl-xxxxxxx.log on your desktop containing a list of all items found.
  • Do not choose to rename any because legitimate items can also be present.
  • Exit Blacklight and post the contents of the log in your next reply.

Then, try this to produce new DSS reports including the extra.txt:
  • Make sure DSS.exe is on your Desktop
  • Press the Start->Run, copy/paste the following command into the box and press OK:

    "%userprofile%\desktop\dss.exe" /config

  • A configuration box will appear, make sure all boxes are checked and press Scan!

Once complete, please post the Blacklight report and both DSS logs.
Hi sorry for the slow reply, the report from backlight is

Hi redlobster215,

The DSS report shows you McAfee antivirus program is outdated and disabled. Without antivirus software your computer is very vulnerable and can easily be infected at any time so it it is essential you have one active at all times.

Please re-enable your McAfee program immediately and update it's definitions. If your McAfee license has expired, either renew it or remove the program as without updates it cannot protect your machine.
There are several free packages available, two of the most popular are here:
Antivir: http://www.free-av.com/
Avast!: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
If you wish to replace McAfee please do not install a new antivirus program until the McAfee package has been removed.

————————————————————————

Please open Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, look down the list for these items and remove them:

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11
JavaT 6 Update 2
JavaT 6 Update 3
JavaT SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1

These are out of date and now a security risk, you can get the latest update (version 6 update 5) from here

Party Poker has been reported as being malware-related so I strongly recommend you remove it.
To do so, uninstall PartyPoker via Add/Remove Programs

You have 360Share Pro, Azureus, LimeWire and uTorrent, P2P file sharing programs installed on your computer. These programs do not come bundled with malware as some similar programs do, but peer-to-peer file sharing networks are one of the biggest sources of malware we see. Anything downloaded from them cannot be trusted to be clean, because even if the file appears to be what it claims to be, it can have malware embedded in it.
I recommend you remove them, but of course the choice is yours.
You can remove these via Add/Remove Programs.

Then, please do an online scan with Kaspersky:
Open Kaspersky Online Scanner in Internet Explorer using this link:
http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/eng/partner/d…kavwebscan.html
  • Click Accept and the web scanner will begin to load
  • If a yellow warning bar appears at the top of the browser, click it and choose Install ActiveX Control
  • You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, click Install
  • If you are prompted about another ActiveX control called Kaspersky Online Scanner GUI part then allow it to be installed also.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on Next and then Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
    Extended
    • Scan Options:
    Scan Archives
    Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
  • The program will start to scan your system.
  • Once the scan is complete, click on the Save Report As… button, change Save as type: to Text file and save the file to your desktop as Kaspersky.txt
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license is accepted, reset to 100%.

————————————————————————

Once complete, please post the Kaspersky report and a new HijackThis log. Also, confirm which programs you changed/removed.
