Hi, whenever I open up something that uses explorer.exe (My Documents, My Computer, Control Panel, etc.), it restarts and closes whatever I was doing. It has really got to the point where I'm about to go crazy. I really need help. I already searched through these topics and found one like mine but it didn't help, so maybe mine might be special.

Here is my Hijackthis log:

I'm kind of new to this so if this isn't the right course of action, could you please tell me where I can get this fixed? Thank you so much in advance!

Hi olhomy,

You appear to have no antivirus software running. Without antivirus software your computer is very vulnerable and can easily be infected at any time so it it is essential you have one active at all times.

There are several free packages available, two of the most popular are here:
Antivir: http://www.free-av.com/
Avast!: http://www.avast.com...avast-home.html

If you have no antivirus program then download and install one immediately, update the definitions and set it to update automatically.
Please ensure you have one antivirus program installed before continuing

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Right-click VundoFix.exe and select Run as administrator.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • A log file will be created at C:\vundofix.txt, please post the contents of this in your next response.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next, move HijackThis from the desktop to it's own folder and rename it:
Open your Documents folder (press Start, click your username in the top-right then open Documents), and make a new folder named HJT
Move the HijackThis.exe program file from your desktop into the new HJT folder
Then, rename HijackThis: right-click HijackThis.exe, choose Rename then rename the program scan.exe
If you wish to place a shortcut to HijackThis on your desktop, then right-click scan.exe, select Send To and choose Desktop (create shortcut)
When starting HijackThis, please right-click the shortcut and choose Run as administrator

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once complete, please make a new HijackThis log and post it along with the VundoFix report.
