In a desperate attempt to save my sanity and computer, I searched out a forum where I could get some advice on spyware detection programs (as spybot S&D didn't do anything for my issue)…I came upon WTT and did some reading, and found all the Hijack This info, so I downloaded it, scanned my computer, and decided to post my log. The problems that made me do this were that my computer has started running S-L-O-W and will redirect web pages like crazy (ie. click on my google search result and get sent to "gomyhit.com" or some yahoojobs website). I scanned it earlier with f-secure and it found and cleaned 1 spyware, I've run spybot and adaware and defragged it last night, and nothing seems to be working to get rid of whatever is causing my problem…anyway, here is the latest HT log file (please help)

Welcome to the Forums.

The fixes we will use are specific to your problems and should only be used for this issue on this machine.

Please only use this topic to reply to. Do not start another thread.
If any other issues arise let me know.
The process is not instant. Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine is clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear. So lets do this to the end!

Save and quit any work your doing before beginning the fix.
All hijackthis logs I ask for should be done in normal mode ( not safe mode)
These logs should be done last after you have followed my instructions in the previous post.

Please if you decide to seek help at another forum let us know. There is a shortage of helpers and tying 2 of us up is a waste of time.
If you have any questions about any advice given here please STOP and ask!

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and choose Install to extract it to its own folder on the Desktop. Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
Choose your usual account.

In Safe Mode, right click the SDFix.zip folder and choose Extract All,
Open the extracted folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the script.
It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.
When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with a new HijackThis log

Double click the smitfraud.exe
When promted
Press any key to continue.
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter

This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with any others I have asked for in your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user. When prompted by allow it to run

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!
If you do and smitfraud isn't present it will have undesirable effects

Run hijackthis and choose scan only and place a check by the following lines if present.
Close all other windows and browsers except HJT before clicking on Fix Checked

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1FD02FEE-D453-48D3-BEFE-6BBD8614EC57} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\browse.dll (file missing)

Close that.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please post the contents of that log.

If you accidently close it you may find it here.
Start -> All Programs -> Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware -> Logs

Run hijackthis and choose scan only and place a check by the following lines if present.
Close all other windows and browsers except HJT before clicking on Fix Checked

Close that.

Reboot to normal mode.

Run HJT again and check for that line. If it's gone please post the HJT log and disreguard the rest of the instructions.

Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and the extra.txt to your post. in your reply

Back up the registry

Download ERUNT
Save it to your desktop. Run and install this program.

In the box that opens ONLY choose
System registry.

Then click OK.

Open note pad and copy the text in the box exactly to notepad.

REGEDIT4 

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects {1FD02FEE-D453-48D3-BEFE-6BBD8614EC57}

Make sure there are NO blank lines before REGEDIT4
Make sure there IS one blank line at the end of the file.

Then click on the FILE menu and select save as
Save the file as regfix.reg. Save the file to the desktop.
IMPORTANT: make sure to save the file as "all types" and NOT as a text file.

The file should look similar to this

Now double click the file on the desktop
When asked if you want this to merge with the registry.
Click YES!

You should receive a message stating that is has been merged with the registry successfully.

Read the disclaimer and click OK.

Click on the Scan button.
Place a checkmark next to the following entries in case they appear:

.bat
.cmd
.inf
.ini
.reg
.txt
.vbs

Click the Fix button.
Re-scan and save a logfile. By default, it will save as daft.txt
I'll need that log later.

If everything is ok again, it should display the "all associations ok message"

Post back with the contents of daft.txt.
Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe

When finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:ComboFix.txt which I will need in your next reply.

Okay, so I did download the Combofix as per your instructions, but I am unsure of where the DSS comes into play. Was it something else I was supposed to download? I tried doing a copy/paste into the "run" box, but kept getting a message that the file didn't exist on this computer. Anyhoo, here are the logs I do have:

Sorry about me instructions. They were a bit disorganized, You had downloaded DSS before. Just try the instructions as posted now.

The good news is that line is gone.

One of those 2 files we deleted must have been the culprit.

Click start > Run > in the empty edit box copy&paste this line :

"%userprofile%\desktop\dss.exe" /daft

Read the disclaimer and click OK.

Click on the Scan button.
Place a checkmark next to the following entries in case they appear:

.bat
.cmd
.inf
.ini
.reg
.txt
.vbs

Click the Fix button.
Re-scan and save a logfile. By default, it will save as daft.txt
I'll need that log later.

If everything is ok again, it should display the "all associations ok message"

Post back with the contents of daft.txt.
