I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium. My browser has been hijacked. A quick check found that the firewall was somehow off. It's back on now, but I've got problems. I installed and ran AVG Antivirus and Anti-spyware, Spybot, and Ad-Aware.

The antispyware found "html/framer," but it wouldn't Heal.

After finding problems in Spybot, I tried to fix them but got this message: "This action may not be performed completely since you are not an administrator." (although I AM the administrator and the only user).
After clicking okay, this message appeared: "C:\Windows\wininit.ini". Access is denied.)"

I ran HijackThis, and the log file is posted below.

I suggest you do this:

You need To disable TeaTimer, it can stop our fix.

1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts

The best way is to do both, Right click the system tray icon and shut down. This will reset TT's registry snapshot. Then, open spybot in advanced mode and turn it off. When cleaning is done, open Spybot in advanced mode to turn back on.

Once fix is completed in the all clear post!!

Enable Teatimer

Open Spybot
Click on Tools in bottom left hand corner.
Click on Resident.
Check Resident "TeaTimer" box.
Click on Allow change ONLY to popup box with:
Entry: SpybotSD Teatimer
Click on Mode, select Default mode
Close Spybot

Next:

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a checkmark/tick in the box on the left side on these:

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{F5DE0D0B-9018-435C-9C90-FE16B98ABBC2}: NameServer = 85.255.114.26,85.255.112.155

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.114.26 85.255.112.155

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Okay, please bear with me, I just want to make certain I do things in the correct order. So first I'm to disable TeaTimer as you noted. But then do I enable it again before running hijackthis or afterward? The order of your instructions indicates I should do so before, but it also implies that running TT can stop the hijackthis fix. Is the "all clear post" you refer to something that appears at the end of the hijackthis fix?
Spybot isn't letting me select Resident. I keep getting a message "You are missing administrator rights…." But I'm the only account on the machine, and the guest account is turned off. I AM the administrator. This message also appeared earlier when trying to Heal with AVG Antispyware. Could this be connected to the problem? I tried creating another account, transferred admin rights to it, logged in and out of that account, then transferred admin rights back to my account and deleted the other one so everthing was back as when I srarted – I'm the only account. But when I tried Spybot again, I got the same message. As I couldn't disable TeaTimer, I stopped at this point. Any ideas what's going on or what I should do next?
Okay, Spybot was unistalled, hijackthis fix was run, and the system rebooted. The new log file is below.

It looks like Spybot is still loading and stopping the fix. You can re-install it when we're finished

1.Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2.Next, open Add/Remove Programs and remove if listed:
SpyBot

After the above:

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a checkmark/tick in the box on the left side on these:

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{F5DE0D0B-9018-435C-9C90-FE16B98ABBC2}: NameServer = 85.255.114.26,85.255.112.155
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.114.26 85.255.112.155
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.114.26 85.255.112.155

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Should those three lines still be there after the fix? Because they are. I don't know what I'm looking for, but then I guess that's why I'm asking you…..
