[Resolved] Spyware/adware?

To whom it may concern,

I'm in huge help with a virus or adware/spyware problem. I was online last night and all of a sudden a window popped up that said "Dowloading Toolbar" or something like that and had a progress meter showing the status of the download. Not knowing what the heck this was, I quick clicked the X to get out of if and it said the download was not able to complete. About, 30 seconds later my spy sweeper popped up and said that a program was trying to install itself or something along those lines and so I quarantined the file. Ever since then I have been getting pop-ups whenever I am online that have the heading of "Internet Speed Test". I searched and found a program called "Internet Speed Monitor", which i have since deleted and those pop ups have stopped happening. Also, my desktop wallpaper changes itself to say the my PC is infected by spyware or adware or something like that. I also get little notifications at the bottom right hand side of the screen (down by the clock and volume control tab) that say my PC is infected by spyware or adware. It shows a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on it and says click here to download latest updates When i click on it, it always takes me to the same page, showing two different spyware programs i can dowload or buy, SpyAway and Perfect Cleaner. I have SpySweeper for spyware/adware and Trend Micro AntiVirus for virus, though both of these program subscriptions expired a couple of months ago so I am not able to update them. I just dowloaded the SpyBot S&D after reading a bunch of these posts about how effective it is. I ran a scan and it came back with a bunch of different hits, but I did not delete any of the bad files not knowing if it would adversely effect my system, I also just noticed the there is a file that is disabling my task manager. Ok i did the two steps you suggested. After running combofix, It produced the log which I saved, but all of my desktop icons were gone so i had to shut off my compter to reboot. When i got back on, all was fine but my spysweeper popped up that the windows registry was trying to change internet explorer options for an internet site (can't remember which one). Figuring this was something combofix had done, i allowed the change. If this was the wrong thing to do let me know. Here are the two logs.

Ok so I did as instructed. Again after combofix ran I had to manually shut down as my icons all disappeared. When i rebooted my system said it had to check drive D for consistency, which it did. Here are the logs.

Ok so i fixed all of the things that you advised me to using hijack this except for the one titled O9 - Extra button: PokerStars - {3AD14F0C-ED16-4e43-B6D8-661B03F6A1EF} - C:\Program Files\PokerStars\PokerStarsUpdate.exe I am guessing this is because i had deleted pokerstars to begin with. I followed the instructions for downloading java also but after I rebooted and clicked on the desktop icon, it did not proceed to install the new version of java. Rather it asks what program to open it with. Also, the desktop shortcut is not called 6-windowsi586-p.exe as your post stated, rather it is named 1205027145096-integrated.jnlp What do i do now? Ok so that worked. I now have the updated java installed. when i rebooted i got back onto my computer and was just getting online when my screen went all blue and had the following message on it. "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to your computer. Underneath that it reads IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Then further down it says Technical Information: *** STOP: 0x0000000A (0xc087E000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8050BC71) Beginning physical dump of memory. physical memory dump complete. Then i have to turn it off again and when i turn it back on and it is booting up it says it must check drive D for consistency. This type of file is FAT32. When i log in it gives me the message windows has recovered from a serious error. This happens quite often, almost once a week maybe. Any idea what this is. Anyway here is my new HJT log.
