Hi Eagle

Yes I recomend keeping the AVG anti-spyware. I use it too.

The AVG anti virus should be found in add/remove programs in the controll panel. It is the one that
list AVG 7.5, not theAVG anti spyware 7.5.The Panda anti virus software should be there too.
Then lets do this:
FIRST:
Make sure Internet Explorer isn't open

Open your Scanner.exe.exe
Click Do a System Scan Only.
Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:(don't worry if any are missing):

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AVG7_CC] C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG7\avgcc.exe /STARTUP
O23 - Service: Panda Process Protection Service (PavPrSrv) - Panda Software - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Panda Software\PavShld\pavprsrv.exe

Close ALL windows and browsers except Scann.exe and click Fix checked

NEXT:
delete the file in RED also not to worry if not there.

Reboot and when rebooted:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop:

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
post a new scanner{HJT] log and the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware log

Sorry for getting back to you late. That mbam scan does take a while. I did the HJT system scan only and after that I noticed the 04-HKLM\..Run: [AVG7_CC]……. disappeared but the 023-Service:Panda Process Protection Service is still there. I wonder if this is okay. Anyway have a look at the fresh logs.

We are getting somewhere now, a few more steps and we will have a clean PC.

Did tou see panda in this location:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Panda Software\PavShld\pavprsrv.exe
if you do delete thefile panda software
If not found do the next:
to stop Service: Panda Process Protection Service (PavPrSrv) - Panda Software

1. Click START, select CONTROL PANEL.
2. Click ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS.
3. Select SERVICES.
4. Right clickPanda Process Protection Service and select PROPERTIES.
5. Change STARTUP TYPE to MANUAL.or stop
6. Click OK.

NEXT:
For the next few steps we need to disable your Spyware Doctor
Here is how:
SpywareDoctor

Spyware Doctor's OnGuard protective functionality may interfere with certain HijackThis fixes we need to make. Please follow these instructions to disable it:

To deactivate Spyware Doctor's OnGuard Tools

1. From within Spyware Doctor, click the "OnGuard" button on the left side.
2. Uncheck "Activate OnGuard".

You can reenable it once your system is clean.

NEXT:

We also need to for the moment disable your real time protection:
CA PEST PATROL REALTIME PROTECTION
Here is how:
STOP CA PEST PATROL'S REALTIME PROTECTION SERVICE
.
1. Click START, select CONTROL PANEL.
2. Click ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS.
3. Select SERVICES.
4. Right click CA PEST PATROL REALTIME PROTECTION SERVICE and select PROPERTIES.

When done with the steps, restart your computer
NEXT do the following:
READ CAREFULY BEFORE DOING
Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results"
Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
Remember to re enable the protection again afterwards before connecting to the net

2. Close any open browsers and make sure you are disconnected from the net. Unplug the cable if need be before running combofix.

WARNING: IF you have not already done so Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet when it starts
Please do not re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
If there is no internet connection when Combofix has completely finished then restart your computer to restore back the connections.

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review

****Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze ****

NEXT:
1. Please open Notepad
Click Start , then Run
Type notepad .exe in the Run Box.

2. Now copy/paste the entire content of the codebox below into the Notepad window:

5. Then drag the CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe as depicted in the animation below. This will start ComboFix again.

Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

6. ComboFix will automatically REBOOT your machine when the KillAll:: switch is used..

7. Next, re-enable all the programs that you disabled prior to running ComboFix.
CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

Hie mschroe919 I have tried running the F-Secure online scan several times with no success. When the scan is about half way through a window comes up with this msg ; NOT ENOUGH MEMORY PLEASE CLOSE SOME APPLICATIONS AND TRY AGAIN. But the only other window I have open is my resident anti-virus software. Tell me where do I go from here. Regards.

Hi Eagle
try this:
Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it's clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point.

Now try your Spyware Doctor scan.
1. Click the "Settings" button on the left side of the Spyware Doctor window.

2. Underneath "Pick a category", choose "Log Settings".

3. Underneath the checkboxes you should see several log file entries noted by the date/time of the entry.
Post a new HJT log and report on scan results as well, please.
Application.NirCmd comes from combofix. You can ignore that.

Right I turned off System Restore and I tried the F- Secure scan again with no success. I still get the same response …NOT ENOUGH MEMORY…….
On the spyware doctor window there wasnt the "Pick a category" or " Log Settings" .However I went into the history and found a log of the scan I had just done. I have pasted it underneath I hope it has the info you want. I have also posted the latest HJT log .

Hi mschroe919 Hello there. I have pasted the above quote onto notepad as you suggested. But when I double click on fix as it shows on the desktop I get the following response ; Registry Editor Cannot import C:\Documents and settings\aj extra\desktop\fix.reg: The specified file is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor As of Spyware doctor the one I have is the free version which can only scan but cannot fix any malware found.

This time I had no problems with that fix.reg . I then did the combofix as instructed earlier and I got the response "combofix uninstalled" . By the way the PC seems alright now , its responding well once it gets going. It only takes a while to start-up and to log off. And only one virus is being picked up by the spyware doctor i.e Application.NirCmd.

Howdy EAGLE, I didn' t ask, but do you still have the cmbofix Icon on desk top and do you still have the combofix log saved somewhere in you pc. if so delete them and rboot and see if it still shows the Application.NirCmd? msschroe919
