Try this now:

Go to [external image: Posted Image] -> Run -> copy/paste in the following single line command & click OK

"%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /killall

[external image: Posted Image]

Click OK and this will start ComboFix in a special way.
When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to a Notepad File to post in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log.
Combofix did its thing, but I was never given the chance to save a log. After reboot, Combofix stayed open for a bit, then it closed itself with no new log. Hijack This still will not install correctly.
Yeah, it's there, but it looks the same as the last one.

.

The one thing I can say thusfar, though, is that the Internet Explorer pop-ups appear to have stopped (knock on wood).
Combofix has returned to doing nothing upon running it besides saying it's preparing to run, have that disappear, and nothing else happen. Shall I try running it in Safe Mode?

Did you give it at least 20 minutes?
Gave it 15 minutes without anything showing up, which is not consistent with what happened when Combofix appeared to work. I'll give it another go for 20 minutes, but I'm not expecting anything.
We can keep trying

* Download Deckard System Scanner to your Desktop.
  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on dds.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • The scan may take a minute. When the scan is complete, a text file will open - main.txt
  • A folder (C:\Deckard\System Scanner) will also open which contains the main.txt and an extra.txt.
  • Copy and paste the contents of main.txt in your next reply. Please attach Extra.txt to your post.

Note: some firewalls may warn that sigcheck.exe is trying to access the internet - please ensure that you allow sigcheck.exe permission to do so.

To attach a file to a new post, simply
Click the[Manage Attachments] button under Additional Options > Attach Files on the post composition page, and
copy and paste the following into the "Upload File from your Computer" box:

C:\Deckard\System Scanner\Extra.txt
If at first we don't succeed, beat the carp** out of it until it works. Haha!

Turns out this Deckard program's done the trick to install Hijack This. Awesome. Here's there main.txt log:

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Well, pop-ups seem to have stopped. I haven't had any since one of the earlier scans today. YouTube videos were also pausing for a moment and trying to catch up until I just now went to look at one. It played all 4 minutes fine. Things appear fine for the time being.

Here's the Hijack This log:
