Hello, a few problems thought resolved are back

Please go to the website of your computer's manufacturer.
Click on their Support and Downloads tab (may be different depending on the site)
Enter the model number of your machine (or Service Tag if its a Dell)
Navigate to Chipset Drivers
Download and install the IDE Controller related Chipset Drivers
You may also see chipset drivers for Audio, graphics, LAN, USB, and other features.
They won't be needed in this situation, though you may want to grab them and save them into a Chipset Drivers Folder on your machine, in the event of future need.

The "Unknown" item that you found in Device Manager is related to IDE Channels, through which your hard drive functions are communicated.
It may be that your machine is presently running with Windows Default IDE Channel Controller Drivers.

There are other ways we may be able to get to the same solution.

p.s. I'm going to Edit the HJT Log that you posted earlier to make it appear as an attached file.
We don't analyse HJT here in this Forum.
If one HJT Log appears, then everybody starts thinking they should post HJT here.
Not your fault, and not a problem. I'll just do a little housekeeping in the thread. That's all.
says I have posted too many of something all ready.
I don't know what that's about.
Maybe LDTate will have an idea.
Let us know when you've completed the above, and a brief statement about the machines current function.
The suggestion from member Abydos is also a sensible line of investigation.
We can follow up on it if necessary.
Doug
There is a flood control setting that makes you wait between post. Maybe that's why you couldn't post what you were trying to.Hello Doug,
I just spent 20 minutes writing every detail about my pc, and everything that has happened, and it won't let me post, says I have posted too many of something all ready. So I will do exactly what you said to right now. Thank you very much for your time.
Kind regards,
Cindy
Please Run the PCPitstop Full Tests, here:
http://www.pcpitstop.com
Register and create a password
Accept the ActiveX component to allow your machine to run the Full Tests
Registering and accepting the ActiveX are both SAFE and FREE.
Full Tests is the first item in the left hand column of that page.
The Full Tests take less than 5 minutes for most machines.
Once you have your Results, please post the TechExpress Link back here into this thread for review.
TechExpress is the last item on the list in the yellow box in upper right area of any Results page.
Post the entire URL link information back here into this Forum thread.
Caution: During the testing of Video Adapter, a variety of patterns, shapes, colors and text are “flashed” onto the users monitor screen. In the many thousands of daily uses of the PCPitstop Full Tests over several years, two individuals who suffer epilepsy experienced discomfort and temporary dizziness when viewing the flashing patterns.
If you know that you are susceptible to photo driven seizure, look away from your screen during the Video Adapter testing sequence.
Here is the next set of instructions to complete while your PCPitstop Full Tests Results are being reviewed.
