Hi!

A few days ago I turned on my computer and was greeted with
- a red screen with a toxic logo with 'privacy danger' covering the desktop.
- System Alert: a Windows message about an impact viruses may have on your pc
-a warning message with red (X) sign: Windows has detected an Internet attack attempt… Somebody's trying to infect your PC with spyware or harmful viruses. Run full system scab bow to protect your PC from Internet atatcks, hijacking attempts and spyware! Click here to download spyware reniver for total protection. [OK]
-another popup stating some words and then the following…

Click 'Yes' to remove it from your PC immediately
- the home page of IE changed to http://ucleaner.com/main.php?wmid=60…0&mid=MjI6Ojg5 or drivecleaner or this http://softwarereferral.com/jump.php…MjI6Ojg5&lid=2 http://onlinesecur…..com/shandler.php?sg=2 don't click them, they may create icons on the desktop or push you to dl the carp** programs.
- icons on the desktop as a result of the upper links: Spyware&Malware Protection, Privacy Protector, Error Cleaner unwated and useless, just links to download those stupid programs below:

So far i have run Adaware, Windows Defender, and ewido antivirus.

Step 1

If you already have Smitfraudfix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.

Please download SmitFraudFix.exe by S!Ri and save it to the desktop.

If you can't download it, please download it from these alternative sites:

From Geekstogo
From Security Cadets
From Zebulon

Double click on SmitfraudFix.exe.
Press 1 then hit the Enter key.
It will create a report named rapport.txt, usually at C drive.
Please post back this log in your next reply.

Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user. Read more here.

Step 2

Please download and install CCleaner Slim.
Once installed, double click on the desktop shortcut created.
On the leftmost column, click on Tools.
On the middle column, click on Uninstall.
At the bottom right hand corner, click on the Save to text file… button.
By default, it saves this file to C:\Program Files\CCleaner named install.txt. You may want to save it to your desktop to find it easily. Click Save.
Close CCleaner.

Please download Deckard's System Scanner from Tech Support Forum and save it to your desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
Save all your work and close all opened programs.
Double click on dss.exe to run it. Follow the prompts.
When the scan is complete, two log files will be produced. The first one, main.txt, will be maximized, the second one, extra.txt, will be minimized.
Please post the contents of the 2 log files in your next reply. 1 log per reply please.

Hi,

Step 1

Please disable these protection programs temporarily as they may interfere with the fixes. You can re-enable them after your computer is clean.

Disable Spybot Teatimer temporarily

Version 1.5

If you have version 1.5, right click the Spybot Icon in the system tray near the clock (looks like a blue/white calendar with a padlock symbol).
Click once on Resident Protection, then right click the Spybot icon again and make sure Resident Protection is now Unchecked. The Spybot icon in the System tray should now be now colorless.
Go to Start > All Programs > Spybot - Search & Destroy > Spybot Search & Destroy.
Click on Mode > Advanced Mode. When it prompts you, click Yes.
On the left hand side, click on Tools.
Check (tick) this box if it is not yet ticked: Resident.
You will notice that Resident is now added under Tools. Click on Resident.
Uncheck (untick) this box: Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) active.
Exit Spybot Search & Destroy.
Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Version 1.4

If you have version 1.4, go to Start > All Programs > Spybot - Search & Destroy > Spybot Search & Destroy.
Click on Mode > Advanced Mode. When it prompts you, click Yes.
On the left hand side, click on Tools.
Check (tick) this box if it is not yet ticked: Resident.
You will notice that Resident is now added under Tools. Click on Resident.

Disable Windows Defender temporarily

Go to Start > All Programs > Windows Defender.
Click on Tools at the top.
Under Settings, click on Options.
Under Automatic scanning, uncheck (untick) Automatically scan my computer (recommended) box.
Under Real-time protection options, uncheck (untick) Use real-time protection (recommended) box.
Click on the Save button at the bottom right hand corner.

Step 2

Please open HijackThis and select Do a system scan only. Put a check (tick) next to these lines:

Double click on OTMoveIt2.exe to run it.

Copy and paste the following in the Code box into OTMoveIt (1).

Note: Do not type it out to minimize the risk of typo error.

Click on MoveIt! (2).

Click on Exit (3).

I can't get to SpyBot either of the ways you said. The only way I can find it is if I do a search on my computer for it and then I find it in: C://documents and settings/ all users/ application data and c://program files/spybot search and destroy. I can disable windows defender but not the SpyBot, what should I do?

Am I logged in a current account of spybot? I don't know, I guess not if I can't find it anywhere. I was wondering, how severe is whatever virus I have. I've been using my computer for last week or so without ever shutting it down (just putting it on standby and its been working great but I'm scared to shut it down. SO basically what can you tell me about whats wrong with my computer?

Hi,

Spybot is running, weird that you can't find it anywhere.

Step 1

Please disable these protection programs temporarily as it may interfere with the fixes. You can re-enable them after your computer is clean.

Disable Windows Defender temporarily

Go to Start > All Programs > Windows Defender.
Click on Tools at the top.
Under Settings, click on Options.
Under Automatic scanning, uncheck (untick) Automatically scan my computer (recommended) box.
Under Real-time protection options, uncheck (untick) Use real-time protection (recommended) box.
Click on the Save button at the bottom right hand corner.

Disable Spybot Teatimer temporarily

Click on Start > All Programs > Spybot - Search & Destroy > Spybot Search & Destroy.
Click on Mode > Advanced Mode. When it prompts you, click Yes.
On the left hand side, click on Tools.
Check (tick) this box if it is not yet ticked: Resident.
You will notice that Resident is now added under Tools. Click on Resident.
Uncheck (untick) this box: Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) active.
Exit Spybot Search & Destroy.
Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
