Have popups informing me of a virus and offering to download software from gomyhit.com. I also see medichi processes. From time to time a file copy dialog appears which is unable to complete. After reading some of the other posts I ran ATF-Cleaner. I tried to run ComboFix but nothing happens, no prompts and no log file appears. I also can't run Spybot (nothing happens) although I was able to install it. No task manager unless I boot in safe mode and logon with Administrator. No Control panel.

I've attached HiJackThis log. I have also run this in safe mode if you need it.

Thanks for any help I can get here!

Michael

Thanks... I just got hooked up with someone on bleepingcomputer.com so I'll stick with that thread. I know you guys are really busy.. thanks for the offer of help! Just a note of interest, the combofix I downloaded from bleepingcomputer.com worked.. I don't know if it is fundamentally different or if running all the other fixes (SDFix, Smitfraudfix etc) enabled the running of combofix. Thanks again!

Yes. Sometimes running other fixes and a online scan can be required first.
Thanks for posting back and letting us know.
