New computer is already slow, popups becoming an issue

Hi,

I just recently purchased this new computer: Dell XPS 720; intel core 2 processor Q6600 (2.40Ghz, 1066FSB) w/ Quadcore technology and 2GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz; 1 TB Serial ATA hard drive 7200 RPM w/ 32 MB DataBurst Cache and a 3.5" drive. I'm running Mozilla Firefox as my primary browser.

It came with Norton Protection Center, which I have been using.. Along with Adaware. I also purchased Spyware Doctor, as well as Webroot Spysweeper. However, after installing the spysweeper, I kept getting errors–Unhandled Exception aawservice.exe—so I uninstalled adaware as well as Spysweeper.

Since then, I have more popups as well as a slowed down computer, and alot of cookies showing up on the spydoctor scan. Also, my a-drive keeps being activated? Would that be the right word? I can hear it looking for a disc to read.

Am I infected with something? Could someone please give my log a read and tell me if this is something I can fix? The great people here helped me a few years ago with my previous computer, so I'm hoping you can do the same with this one

Also, what should I have installed/downloaded to help prevent any more spy/malware/cookies from being a pest?
