Hey, I don't really see any major difference in the computer's operation, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything, it's relatively old. However, there are still lags in pages opening up online sometimes. Anything else I should do? Ok, I'm sorry to be stubborn here but I feel like I need to know why the passwords have to be changed. I understand the concept and I'm not arguing with you about doing it, but what did you find? Did you find evidence somehow that someone had accessed information? Did you see a large vulnerability to someone stealing info? Did we not clean everything out? Has my system been communicating with an outside server? Thanks
Ok, so I'm guessing you found that worm on my system. Password changing is for future protection correct? Is there a way to clean this worm? Shall I run some kind of program to kill it?

We already killed them with Combofix.:

You can run this:

Lets run an F-Secure online scan it will scan for Viruses, Spyware and RootKits:

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Start scanning button. A window will pop up.
  • Allow the Active X control to be installed on your computer, then click the Accept button
  • Click Full System Scan and allow the components to download and the scan to complete.
  • If malware is found, check Submit samples to F-Secure then select Automatic cleaning
  • When cleaning has finitished, click Show report (this will open an Internet Explorer window containing the report)
  • Highlight and Copy (CTRL + C) the complete report, and Paste (CTRL + V) in a new reply to this post
If Automatic cleaning with Submit samples hangs, click Cancel, then New Scan
  • When the cleaning option is presented, Uncheck Submit samples to F-Secure
  • Click Automatic cleaning
  • When cleaning has finitished, click Show report (this will open an Internet Explorer window containing the report)
  • Highlight and Copy (CTRL + C) the complete report, and Paste (CTRL + V) in a new reply to this post

Note: This scan will only work with Internet Explorer.
You must be logged on a administrator rights to run this scan.
The scan may take a few hours.

Hey again, I'm at work so I'll have to do that this evening. I'll post the log soon as I get home. Thank you so much for continuing to help me out. Talk to you soon.
Sorry about the delay. Thank you for waiting. Here's the hijack this from about 5 minutes ago. Also, I noticed something strange today. I was trying to to get to www.gamespot.com and the status bar down at the bottom of firefox (the one which tells you what the browser is doing) said "looking for www.facebook.com". My wife has a facebook account but have you ever heard of that? Thanks.

I don't use FF so my best guess is it was loading it into the browsers cache.
