Ok for a while now I have experiencing problems loading some web pages, I get this:
res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/navcancl.htm
And last night a blue screen suddenly popped up saying I had a problem and I had to restart my computer immediately
I dont know what is wrong, but I'm afraid its about to get a lot worse
I have already run NAV, AVG,and Adaware scans
Here is my log:

Thank you for helping me and if there is anythng else you need just tell me

**Emergency-ok so my computer just seized
i really need help pls :(

Update 10:00am 11/23
NAV keeps popping up saying that it has detected "downloader" virus and removed it, but it continues to pop up
Hello and welcome to the forum.

Sorry about the delay in responding

If you still need help, Scan again with HijackThis, and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.

Please make a uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
5. Click on the Save list… button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here in a reply.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Well my computer has been very slow (and i have scanned with every program i have) but the main thing is that i cannot access random websites, it says res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/navcancl.htm it obviously doesnt effect every internet site, but it does effect most of them and i would like it to be gone
also occasionally when i save a word file, my desktop goes black and i have to reboot and i have no idea what this could be

Thank you so much for your assistance :)
Webwatcher is a snooping tool, which collects data from your computer. I'll take a closer look now.

Download and Save ComboFix
  • Download this file from below:

    Here
  • Save it to your Desktop.
  • Disconnect from the Internet, than disable your anti-virus and any real-time anti-spyware monitors that are running.
  • Click Start>Run copy/paste or type "%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /killall into the Run box and click OK.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply with a new HijackThis log.
Note 1: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall
Note 2:Remember to re-enable your anti-virus and anti-spyware before reconnecting to the Internet.

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task-Manager use the Processes tab (press ctrl alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

Hi

Before I press on.

I see that Viewpoint is installed. Viewpoint, Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player are Viewpoint components which are installed as a side effect of installing other software, most notably AOL and AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). Viewpoint Manager is responsible for managing and updating Viewpoint Media Player’s components. You can disable this using the Viewpoint Manager Control Panel found in the Windows Control Panel menu. By selecting Disable auto‑updating for the Viewpoint Manager ‑‑ the player will no longer attempt to check for updates. Anything that is installed without your consent is suspect. Read what Viewpoint says and make your own decision.

To provide a satisfying consumer experience and to operate effectively, the Viewpoint Media Player periodically sends information to servers at Viewpoint. Each installation of the Viewpoint Media Player is identifiable to Viewpoint via a Customer Unique Identifier (CUID), an alphanumeric identifier embedded in the Viewpoint Media Player. The Viewpoint Media Player randomly generates the CUID during installation and uses it to indicate a unique installation of the product. A CUID is never connected to a user's name, email address, or other personal contact information. CUIDs are used for the sole purpose of filtering redundant information. Each of these information exchanges occurs anonymously.

Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without user's approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This may change, read Viewpoint to Plunge Into Adware.
I recommend that you remove the Viewpoint products; however, decide for yourself. To uninstall the the Viewpoint components (Viewpoint, Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player):
  • Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  • In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  • In Add or Remove Programs, highlight Viewpoint Manager , click Remove.
  • Do the same for each Viewpoint component.

Let me know if you removed the Viewpoint's and I can add the folder in for deletion.
ok i removed it oh and i am still getting that false address that blocks websites (not based on the content or anything, it seems random and scattered, but it mostly seems to block blogs)
Hello

Remember to disconnect from the Internet and disable your anti-virus before carrying out the next instruction, and to reenable the anti-virus before reconnecting to the Internet

Open Notepad - it must be Notepad, not Wordpad.
Copy the text below in the code box by highlighting all the text with your mouse and pressing Ctrl+C

File::
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\pstwa.bak1
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\pstwa.bak2

Folder::
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Viewpoint
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\atww

Registry::
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad]
"shellservice"=-

Driver::
filesvc
procdrv
regfil

Go to the Notepad window and click Edit > Paste
Then click File > Save
Name the file "CFScript.txt" (including the quotes)
Save the file to your Desktop

[external image: Posted Image]

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task-Manager use the Processes tab (press ctrl alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

In your next reply post:
ComboFix.txt
New HJT log taken after the above scan has run
Ok I ran the scan and when it rebooted i got an error saying Microsoft Script Based Host has encountered a problem and needs to shut down
also whenever i shut down my computer i always have a not responding message pop up and i have to close dwwin.exe and ccApp
does that mean anything?

here are the scan results:

Hi

ccApp usually hangs on shutdown because Norton is trying to scan
- a non existant floppy drive. Go into the advanced options of the auto
- protect features in your Norton Antivirus program and disable the feature
- "scan floppy on shutdown" ccApp should now shutdown normally when
- you turn off your PC.

Navigate to and delete this folder
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Viewpoint

  • Please go HERE to run PandaActiveScan…

  • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
  • A new window will open…click the Check Now button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)

  • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
  • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to your desktop. Then post it in your next reply with a new HijackThis log.
umm theres a little problem the panda scan thing won't scan, i get to the "choose what to scan" screen and i click on my computer, but at the bottom of the screen it says error and nothing happens. im not sure what to do according to the error icon, error: object doesn't support this property or method
Hello

Forget Panda.

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner. You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then start to download the latest definition files.
  • Once the scanner is installed and the definitions downloaded, click Next.
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:

      + Extended(If available otherwise Standard)
    • Scan Options:

      + Scan Archives
      + Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan select My Computer
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run. Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Now click on the Save as Text button
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Copy and paste that information in your next post.

With the exception of Internet Explorer, which is needed for the Kaspersky Scan, keep ALL programs closed until the scan is complete.
