Hello, and welcome to the forum.

My name is Simon V., and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.

Step 1

Please right-click on HijackThis.exe and choose Rename. Rename it to Scanner.exe.

Step 2

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES.
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • A logfile will be saved at C:\vundofix.txt.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Step 3

Open HijackThis.
  • Click on the Config button.
  • Click on the Misc Tools button.
  • Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
  • Click on the Save list… button and save the file to a convenient location. When you press Save, Notepad will open with the contents of that file.
Step 4

In your next reply, please post:
  • the Vunofix log (C:\vundofix.txt)
  • the Uninstall List (uninstall_list.txt)
  • a new HijackThis log
Having trouble with the uninstall list. Will keep trying to create. Here are the other 2 as instructed

Hi :)

Please download Combofix:

Double-click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post the contents of that log (C:\Combofix.txt) back here, along with a new HijackThis log.

Note: Do not mouseclick Combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Note: Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected. If it does, press Ctrl, Alt and Del at the same time and, under the Processes tab, end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then Combofix should continue. If that happened I'd like to know and what process you had to end.
Combo fix ran without issue. Here is the log:

Hi :)

Step 1

Please go to VirusTotal or Jotti and upload C:\WINDOWS\system32\bouihlgu.ish for scanning.

For VirusTotal:

  • Please copy and paste C:\WINDOWS\system32\bouihlgu.ish in the text box next to the Browse… button.
  • Click on Send File.

For Jotti:

  • Please copy and paste C:\WINDOWS\system32\bouihlgu.ish in the text box next to the Browse… button.
  • Click on Submit.

Copy/paste the results in Notepad and save them to your desktop.

Also do this for G:\SMCWUSB32.exe.

Step 2

Open Notepad (Go to Start > Run, type Notepad and hit Enter), and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

File::

C:\WINDOWS\17PHolmes572.exe
C:\WINDOWS\17PHolmes77.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddeeg.ini2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\snugnjtp.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\opilfasu.dll

Folder::

C:\WINDOWS\system32\rMa02yy
C:\Temp\abW9
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Mz17r
C:\Temp\mZOr

Registry::

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{34679e1c-c3a1-42e3-82c5-140aad1ef8f8}]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{AEC273C2-75B3-4B3F-A69B-F4D9986A2201}]
Click on File > Save as….

In the File Name box, copy/paste CFScript.txt (Note: Do not change the filename!)

Click Save.

[external image: Posted Image]

Referring to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe.
It will create a log. Be sure to save it to a convenient location.

Step 3

Your Java software is out of date. Follow these instructions to update it:

  • Go to Start and click on Control Panel, then double-click on Add or Remove Programs.
  • Search for previously installed versions of Java (J2SE Runtime Environment), and remove it. It should have this icon next to it: [external image: Posted Image]
  • Then download and install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 3.

Step 4

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner.

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner. On the welcome screen, click Accept.

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, click Install.

  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files.
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on Next.
  • Now click on Scan Settings.
  • In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:

  • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:

    Extended (if available, otherwise Standard)

  • Scan Options:

    Scan Archives
    Scan Mail Bases

  • Click OK.
  • Now under Select a Target to Scan:

    Select My Computer.

  • The program will start and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Now click on the Save as Text button and save the file to your desktop.

Step 5

In your next reply, please post:

  • the Virustotal/Jotti results
  • the Combofix log (C:\Combofix.txt)
  • the Kaspersky Online Scan report
  • a new HijackThis log
Simon, I don't seem to have C:\WINDOWS\system32\bouihlgu.ish Below are the results from Virus total. 0 bytes size received / Se ha recibido un archivo vacio I also do not have a G: drive at all, but am searching for those files in case they are in different directories. I am moving on to step 3 as that seem to definitely apply to me. Should I do steps 2 through 5 as well? Thanks…

I am moving on to step 3 as that seem to definitely apply to me. Should I do steps 2 through 5 as well?

All the steps apply to you, so you should go through them all :)

For the Virustotal/Jotti problem you are having with bouihlgu.ish, don't worry about that now. The G: drive corresponds to external devices (like USB sticks, External Hard Disks), so if you have one, plug it in, search for the file, and upload it.
Thanks SV!

Virus total results both
