[Resolved] IE browser getting hijacked (scprot4.exe)

Hello,

I'm suddenly starting to have problems with IE after I got a small balloon alert saying 'Spyware Alert'. it then popped up a window asking me to install some spyware removal software which i closed.
i noticed a file called C:\Program Files\SecCenter\scprot4.exe which i deleted with 2 other dlls it had created. however now i keep getting this annoying message whenever i open IE saying that 'IE has encountered a problem Debug, Close' if i don't Close then my browser keeps getting redirected whenever i try opening a site. firefox runs fine.

i don't know how IE got infected since i've mainly been visiting edu sites these days. i ran my AV and adware but they didn't seem to help much. i also noticed that all my previous restore points save one were gone. don't know if this was caused through this or simply a routine win cleanup

sorry for the double post but i'm now getting security alerts for Vundo and adware.ezula in case someone can help i also sometimes get IE ad popus when i'm working with firefox

Hello and welcome to the Forum

* Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe

Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found: [external image: Posted Image]
If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:

This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples)
After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list
Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
Close Dr.Web Cureit.
Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously in your next reply.

Download ComboFix from Here to your Desktop.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you, combofix.txt. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick while its running. That may cause it to stall

here are the logs. first time combofix ran it crashed while deleting some files so i dont think it produced a log. my system rebooted on its own and i got a 'System recovered from a serious error'. i managed to jot down one folder that it had deleted on its first run which was C:\windows\system32\fibagbia
all my restore points except one (created by combofix i think) are gone again. would you happen to know why this keeps happening?
