Hello, I havnt been here in a while. But i'm back with more infections/viruses. :(

My computer has been experiencing slower speeds & after scanning with Lavasoft AdAware 2007 Anti-spyware program, i have removed all viruses excluding 3, all win32 Trojan viruses which couldn't be removed. Can you help me?
note : my task manager also was disabled & i get "LoadLibrary Manager errors" randomly, & i got a background shown below.

I am also currently running Safe Mode since the virus has restricted my access from opening Mozilla Firefox. Along with that, there was also major freezes.

Hi and welcome back to the forums.

I havnt been here in a while.

Umm…it's only been a month…

But i'm back with more infections/viruses.

You may have some more, but you never finished last time you were here with LDTate. Why not?

Just because your computer starts to run better does not mean you're clean. LD told you that but you didn't listen. You also didn't listen to his advice about putting an Antivirus program in place.

If you come here, or anywhere, for help…you should at least listen and do what the helper is asking you to. Well….I'll get off my soapbox.

I'll help, but there are a couple of things you need to do first.

1. You have no service packs in place, no wonder your infected.

The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

2. Get one of the free Antivirus programs and put it in place. Making sure it's updated. Here are some free ones.

Use an AntiVirus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future. Here is a list of some free and evaluation versions to try:
AVG AntiVirus
Avast Antivirus Home Version–Free
Antivir Personal - Free

If you do those things I'll be then glad to take a look and see what we can do. But you also have to stay with us until we give the all clear. Just because the symptoms stop doesn't mean you're clean.

Regards,
Dave
Yeah sorry :(
Can you tell LD, i said sorry too.
About like not considering all your help fully, to fix my computer.
I regret not listening to LD, since my computer's state has worsened over time.

Back on topic, everytime i download something, the files are shown below

[external image: Posted Image]

This means, that i cannot run them. Everytime i press it, nothing happens.

By the way, i remember a registry edit method, that you can use to return the task manager, since mine is disabled. Would you help me with that as well.
Hi,

I will do my best here to get you up and running. Malware is only part of the issue at this point. The other issue is the damage that the unresolved malware issues have done to your computer and OS (like disabling task manager, and not allowing you to download and run exe's). Do you have another computer that you can download tools and put on a flash drive? We may need to do that here if you can't do it on this computer. Like I said, I will try but cannot make any guarantees and you may want to consider re-installing Windows.

Well let's start by trying to get task manager back.

First, we need to backup your registry:
Please go to Start > Run
Paste in the following line:regedit /e c:\registrybackup.reg
Click OK.
It won't appear to be doing anything, that's normal.
Your mouse pointer may turn to an hour glass for a minute.
Please continue when it no longer has the hour glass.

Open Notepad (press Start->Run, enter notepad and press OK)
Copy everything inside the code box below (Starting with REGEDIT4) and paste it into a new notepad file.
Change the Save As Type to All Files and save it as fix.reg to your Desktop.

Note: Please copy and paste all the text at once, and check that there is NO blank line above REGEDIT4 and one blank line at the bottom.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"DisableTaskMgr"=dword:00000000

Then double-click on the fix.reg file, and when it prompts to merge say yes.

Now see if you can access task manager.

Also, would like you to try and run this tool if possible.

Please download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a NotePad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.

Double click on SDFix.exe. It should automatically extract a folder called SDFix to your system drive (usually C:\). Please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the SDFix folder and double click on RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y and press Enter to begin the script.
  • It will start cleaning your PC and then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any key to restart the PC.
  • Your system will take longer than normal to restart as the fixtool will be removing files.
  • When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished.
  • Press any key to end the script and to load your desktop icons.
  • A text file should automatically open, so please copy the contents and post them here. We also need you to post a new HijackThis log
The registry method for the task manager was unsuccessful.

Everytime i download start SDFix in safe mode. a error would pop up " NTVD.exe " something about that, & nothing would happen. But I'll try again, to see what i can do

Hi, Well, it looks like Windows didn't validate. Do you have your original XP install disk or did this computer come with XP installed? Just so you know, the forums do have a "general rule" that if Windows is not genuine then we cannot help you. You are likely going to need to have your XP disk anyway. This machine is so badly infected and/or corrupted that a fresh install may be the way to go here. Let me know, Dave
We may be able to get it running. But do you have any idea why it won't validate? Is this the only computer the disk has been used on? And why no Windows Updates?
It popped up because your Windows is not legitimate/legal. Do you know why? Was this disk used on another computer? If not then you will need to contact Microsoft to clear this up.
Then you will need to buy a valid XP disc and re-install. This machine is so badly infected/corrupted that a fresh install is best any way. You can certainly try to save personal files such as documents, pictures, music, ect… But a complete re-install of XP is in order. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Dave
Nahh, its okay. I should be the one saying sorry. For not listening to the previous helper, that helped me with my computer. Well. I'll be back, i want some suggestions on good free anti spyware programs, that'll protect me from spyware, viruses
