hi a_dim_wit, i dont see any malware in the log. i see you have antivirus software. i dont see a antimalware (spyware) scanner. i suggest you download one of these: Ad-aware AVG Anti-Spyware SUPERAntiSpyware Spybot search and destroy Pest Patrol Spy Sweeper Spyware Doctor the first four have free or limited versions. install, update and scan your computer. shelf life
hi a_dim_wit,

cookies aren't really much to worry about. ad aware and spybot are good. two antimalware apps is plenty to have/use.
if you still are concerned you can always do a online scan:

F-secure scan:
http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols.shtml

uses Internet Explorer only

click on the "start scanning button" near bottom of page.
click to accept/install the ActiveX applet
"accept" the License Agreement, click "full system scan"
Once the download completes, the scan will begin automatically.Download may take awhile
The scan will take some time to finish.
When the scan completes, click the Automatic cleaning (recommended) button.

shelf life
Thanks for your help. I have another problem. When I turn on my computer and log into my user profile, I always get a message that asks me to install a program. I uninstalled the same program a while ago but an installation window pops up and asks if I want to install it. How do I get rid of that.
Sorry, it wasn't a program. The window that pops up just says Trayapp and it always asks me to insert a disc to install. The thing I thought it was something else called Disc API.
