Hello and welcome to the forum.

Sorry about the delay in responding

If you still need help, Scan again with HijackThis, and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.

Please make a uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
5. Click on the Save list… button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here in a reply.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
here is the list you asked for:

As for how this thing is running…I have just removed some more from start up so it boots faster now. was a bit slow had five or maybe six things in there.
I can not get ANY downloads for Microsft at all no matter what I do as per the other post in "Windows" ; have you read that?
other then that I can not say much about how it runs
Avast did find a trojan and when I did some search I found it might be a false positive because of Panda so I will go through and remove all I can of there stuff I hope.
I seem to find things as easy as ever (if I know what I am looking for)
hope something here helps.
Please do keep in mind some of these things I do not want to remove,. I have heard that removing all the "hot fixes" will allow you to redownload and get back to good with M.S. but I am not qualified to say.
Thanks
Hi

I cant see anything in the HJT log. Let's try a couple more scans to be sure.

Download Superantispyware (SAS) free home version.

SAS Free

Install it and double-click the icon on your desktop to run it.
It will ask if you want to update the program definitions, click Yes.
Under Configuration and Preferences, click the Preferences button.
 Click the Scanning Control tab.
Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked:
  • Close browsers before scanning
  • Scan for tracking cookies
  • Terminate memory threats before quarantining.
  • Please leave the others unchecked.
  • Click the Close button to leave the control center screen.
On the main screen, under Scan for Harmful Software click Scan your computer.
On the left check C:\Fixed Drive.
On the right, under Complete Scan, choose Perform Complete Scan.
Click Next to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer.
After the scan is complete a summary box will appear. Click OK.
Make sure everything in the white box has a check next to it, then click Next.
It will quarantine what it found and if it asks if you want to reboot, click Yes.
To retrieve the removal information for me please do the following:
  • After reboot, double-click the SUPERAntispyware icon on your desktop.
  • Click Preferences. Click the Statistics/Logs tab.
  • Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
  • It will open in your default text editor (such as Notepad/Wordpad).
  • Please highlight everything in the notepad, then right-click and choose copy.
Click close and close again to exit the program.
Please paste that information here for me with a new HijackThis log.
  • Download Silent runners by Andrew Aronoff from here
  • Unzip/extract it to a folder on your desktop
  • Double click on Silent Runners.vbs to start Silent runners
  • If your antivirus warns you about a script, allow it to run, this script does not contain malicious code
  • You will be asked if you want skip the supplementary search, click Yes
  • Wait for Silent runners to inform you that it has finished
  • A log will be created in the same folder as Silent Runners.vbs
  • It will have a name of Startup Programs (yourusername) date-time.txt
  • Use notepad to open that file
  • Copy and paste the contents as a reply to this topic
ok I am still running that scan ( the first) and two things have come up that to me are important. first: My Avast system has told me it found a virus somewhere in system restore. up to this point the program superantispyware has found nothing. Second: I have recieved this msg from windows; Your system is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file." I have done a small research and got this info: Unless you have very little physical memory (RAM) in your system, this message is indicative of a buggy application with a memory leak. A memory leak is a common problem caused by poorly written or poorly debugged applications where they continually use more and more memory until you shut down the program, end the process manually or restart Microsoft Windows. all of this has happened while this program is running. IS this a problem?
I let all run until it was done :
Here are the logs:

Hi

Apart from the MS Update problem, are you having any other problems? We will try one more scan to be sure.

BLACKLIGHT
  • Please download F-Secure Blacklight (fsbl.exe) from here
  • Save into C:\ with a name of fsbl.exe
  • Go to Start > Run
  • Copy and paste the contents of the below codebox into the run box
    C:\fsbl.exe /expert
  • Click OK
  • This will launch BlackLight
  • Select I accept the agreement
  • Click Next
  • Click Scan
  • Wait for the scan to finish
  • Click on Next>
  • Click Exit
  • A logfile will have been created in the C:\ drive
  • It will be named fsbl-xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.log where xxxxxxxxxxxxxx is the date and time of the scan
  • Use notepad to open that log
  • Post the contents of that log as a reply to this topic together with a new HijackThis log.
Not really, most of my problem is that I can not download the ms updates.
Have you read my post in windows yet?
I did receive that trojan warning during the scan that I informed you about and it was not the same as the false pos with Panda. It was something different and in restore.
I do not know about the virtual memory thing that just took up loads of time to configue and work I guess but no problems have come of that that I know of. I do know all that I have seen leads me to believe there is a problem but moreso to that program being "buggy".
I will do this othe scan and if there is nothing you can think of where shall I go next and whos heads do we get together with to perhaps fix whatever problem I have.!?

Is this the log you wanted?

A couple of questions. When did this begin to happen? Did you make any changes to your computer around the same time, such as install or uninstall a new program, or run a registry cleaner? Are you using autoupdates, or going direct to MS Updates and downloading and installing manually? What are the specs of your computer? Have you had any other symptoms that may relate to malware, such as popups, freezing, reboots and high CPU usage?
When did this begin to happen? Did you make any changes to your computer around the same time, such as install or uninstall a new program, or run a registry cleaner? I have to say that this might have started about 6 months back perhaps earlier or later …a time frame is not something I can give you to pinpoint. As for changes not that I am aware of. I have not done any install in a while I uninstall off and on things I dont need any longer if I have the diskavailable in quick fassion. Reg cleaners and I do not get along so no to that. I use auto updates BUT I let it tell me they are ready and I install them in the "custom" fassion b/c I dont want some updates like ms messenger type stuff and have removed that to the best I could. Have you had any other symptoms that may relate to malware, such as popups, freezing, reboots and high CPU usage? No I have not in some time. For about anything as of late I have called upon Doug at this web site. As for specs this is an hp cmputer 3200 AMD athlon, 512 mb pc2700 ddr sdram memory, 200 gb ultra dma hard drive and uses nvidia geforce fx5200xt…is that what you wanted?
