A window opened to what was in my desktop. Then at the bottom there's an empty toolbar and below that another toolbar with All Files (*.*) it drops down and there's DLL libararies (*.dll) and ProgramFiles(*.exe)
Restart your computer in Safe Mode.

Power off then back on

Press the F8 key until the startup menu appears.

Choose the Command Prompt Only option then press Enter.

At the C:\

Type in: CD\windows

At C:\windows
Type in: CD\system

At the C:\windows\system

Type in: del c:\windows\system\LG.DLL

Restart your computer in Safe Mode.

Sorry about this mate but How do you go to safe mode?

Sorry for my stupidity but it's 2.20am and i'm half a sleep
Thought we did that on page one. Shutdown (turn off) the computer. You can use the computers power switch. Turn it back on. As soon as it begins to starts up, start tapping the F8 key.
I've tried it 5 or 6 times and just kept getting Invalid. That was at Command prompt only. Did you want me to do it at 6.Safe Mode and Command Only? I've i got to be worried about my pc or connection? is this a major thing or just being safe?

I've tried it 5 or 6 times and just kept getting Invalid

When you do what? Trying to get into safe mode?
Deleteing the file?
Changing the directories?
Type this in at Command prompt only. At the C:\ Type in: CD\windows At C:\windows Type in: CD\system At the C:\windows\system Type in: del c:\windows\system\LG.DLL Do i go to safe mode first then Command prompt only. or the one marked Safe mode and Command prompt only. Is this urgent that needs me to do it now? its 3.45 am over here
Hi mate, i wrote down everything that happened.

I clicked Safe Mode & Command Prompt only, it stayed on the same page and this appeared.

C:\

I typed CD\windows

then this appeared C:\>WINDOWS

I typed CD\system

I got Invalid Directory

I tried it several times with capitals and / instead of \ but nothing worked.

At the moment the only problems are java on the FireFox browser, i keep getting asked to install missing plug ins. On the BT browser internet explorer script error pop ups upo on some sites including this board and on both browsers pictures and site icons are slow to appear.

Should i do another log or something else?

Try to update Java and see if that helps..
Updating Java:
Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.

* Scroll down to where it says Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u2
The Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications.

* Click the "Download" button to the right.

* Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".

* Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.

* Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.

* Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.

* Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name. It should have the icon next to it.

* Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.

* Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.

* Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.

All this went fine up untill going to the control panel> Add/Remove there was nothing called Java, nothing with the icon and nothing with (JRE or J2SE) in any title.

The only programs i didn't know what they were was
Belaric Advisor 5.0
Blink Search 1.0 Build 1.14
Build City Deluxe
DataDirect Connect for ODBC 4.2
Microsoft Data Access Components KB870669

Should i continue with the rest of the instructions?

* Then from your desktop double-click on 6-windowsi586-p.exe to install the newest version.

Once installed you can test to see that it is in fact installed
Sun Java Test
http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
Finished the java download, just before it started it said"This is not a supported operating system" Pictures and icons are appearing quicker but on Fire Fox still nothing plays on YouTube but all videos are playing on BT's Browser. On YouTube and other sites i still keep getting "Click here to install missing plugins" Is there anything else i need to do? install a firewall? And is there a forum on here to ask advice on sound problems? (this has nothing to do with the virus)
