[Resolved]Safe Mode. Problems Sdfix

I closed everything including McAfee. Then did as you instructed. After Fix Checked, out of curiosity I scanned again. It was still there 020!!!! So I decided toreboot. 3rd try got to boot option AHHHH the Arrow keys are still frozen and had to boot normally. Closed everything again and repeated the whole
process to Fix Checked and scanned a log pasted below. Otherwise the Pc. seems to be running fine but I am concerned about arrow keys and inability to boot in safe mode.

Close all windows and browsers.
Open HijackThis

Click on Open Misc Tools
Click on Delete a File On Reboot
Click once on the file below to select it:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Systen.dll

Click on the Back button to exit Process Manager

Let me know if HJT can't find it before moving on.

Now, back at the main screen of HijackThis, proceed to Scan.
and put a check by these.

O20 - Winlogon Notify: TrkWks - C:\WINDOWS\System32\Systen.dll (file missing)

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"


Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Hi, On clicking delete file on reboot it opens a window showing contents of folder system32. Last time I had simply typed the name in the File Column that you had asked me to check and it seems to have worked. This time when I typed the name and clicked open like last time it says——–Path Does Not exist. Please verify that correct path was given. I stopped to report to you. What shall I do next? Thanks

That's telling us it isn't there, but the 020 won't remove with HJT.

Go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following into the box and hit OK.

This is a new one to me, but at least I can see what it's doing now.

Click Start > Run > and type in:

services.msc

Click OK.

In the services window find TrkWks <–If listed. If not let me know.

Right click and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service
Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Startup Type"
in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK. Exit the
Services utility.

Launch Notepad (Start>All Programs>Accessories), and copy/paste all the Quoted REGEDIT below to it. Don't forget to include REGEDIT4.
Save in: Desktop
File Name: fixme.reg
Save as Type: * files
Click: Save

Save this as fix.reg Choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.

Doubleclick on it and when it asks you if you want to merge the contents to the registry, click yes/ok.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

I am confused. At the top of your post the name is fixme.reg—–after the Qoute you ask to save as fix.reg. I made two registry entries one fixme.reg another fix.reg—-then I merged both. At reboot the Arrow keys are still frozen and then by itself chkdisk started and then booted normally—other then this it is running normally. Here is the log:

Sorry, I forgot to copy the report but I can tell you that it found One W32\Malware\AEKK and deleted it. It also found one tracking cookie and deleted it as well

You managed to get rid of w32.delf.uc. The one you mention does not show up in any scan unless this AEKK is it. No I do not use PC for banking or any financial transaction.I am begining to feel that I should invest serious time in learning Linux!Thanks

Click "Start"> "Run"> type in Regedit tap Enter Key

Make sure "My Computer" is highlighted

Click "Edit"> "Find"
Type in TrkWks tap Enter Key.
Right Click on the file if found and select "Delete"

Tap the "F3" Key to find the next entry of the file. Continue using the "F3" Key until it's finished searching.

Close Regedit.


Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
