BCCode : 1000000a
The error code that you cite can apply to many problems.
faulty device drivers (I think you state that you are now completely free of yellow or red warnings in Device Manager ???)
failing RAM
Failing Video Card or corrupted Driver
other Hardware problems
_____________
Consider the following:
(Do not proceed with this suggestion if you are not comfortable working inside of your computer tower and if you are not fully aware of static-electricity caution practices)
Turn-Off and Unplug your machine from power source.
"After" the machine is Off and Unplugged, press and hold the Power-On button on the front of your machine for 30 seconds
(this discharges the RAM preheat capacitors and the LED light on the Motherboard will turn off. Some lights on your keyboard and/or Optical drive may "flash on" briefly when you press the Power-On button, even though power is disconnected)
Open the side of your Tower Case
Inspect for the location of your RAM modules.
(touch a metal portion of the Case structure to ground out any static charge from you body)
(don't shuffle your feet, as this will build up your body's static charge again)
REMOVE the 256mb stick of RAM
MOVE the 1024mb stick of RAM into the #1 position
Leave the 256mb stick out for the time being
Close up your case, reconnect power cords and fire up the machine again.
Run the machine for a while to determine if the "sudden freezing" problem re-occurs.
Post back with your findings.
You may need to Run MemTest86 to determine if there is a fault in your RAM. (later)
_____________
Uninstall your ATI Video Adapter Driver using Control Panel Add/Remove
Next: Run the ATI driver Uninstall program
Next: Download and install the most current ATI driver for your Radeon 8500 series video adapter
Run the machine for a while to determine if the "sudden freezing" problem re-occurs.
Post back with your findings

When you have your Tower Case open:
Inspect the Fans, air-intake, and air-exhaust areas
Inspect for excessive dust collected at the CPU Heatsink and at the Radeon Video card Heatsink.
Get a can of compressed air to blow out any accumulated dust.
Do not use any rag, brush, or object to remove dust – Compressed air only.
When blowing compressed air to clean any Fan, use the rubber eraser end of a pencil to gently prevent the fan from spinning. Compressed air can "over-spin" a fan, resulting in damage to the bearings.
Run your machine for a while to determine if the "sudden freezing" problem re-occurs.
Keep us informed of your progress.
Best Regards,
p.s. As your two current posts concern the same topic/repair, I will be "merging" the two for improved consistency and so that your posts and the replies you receive do not get lost. Don't worry if one of the topics "disappears". Its posts will be contained in the other thread.
