Howdy Eagle Knows,

Welcome to Tom Coyote. Let's see what all is running there.

Please download HijackThis from Here. Then click on the downloaded file to install HijackThis. After it is installed open HijackThis and select Do a system scan and save logfile. Use copy/paste and post that log back here for review.

Also go Here and download Silent Runners to your desktop. Run it, and post back here the log it creates. If your AV queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious. It will create a file named Startup Programs, and will notify when the scan is complete. Copy the log from the Startup Programs file back here. You can use separate posts here if needed.

See here for info on how to download and run Silent Runners, should we need it here later. Sounds like you just need to do the download a bit different.

But infection is showing, so let's move on that now.

Go here and download the free version of SUPERAntiSpyware and install it.

After installation accept any prompts to allow SUPERAntiSpyware to install the latest infection definition files. Next follow the prompts to complete the installation. For now, uncheck the option to have SUPERAntiSpyware "Automatically check for program and definition updates". Providing an email address and allowing the software to send diagnostic reports to it's research center are up to you. Do NOT allow SUPERAntiSpyware to Protect your Home Page settings.

Once the installation is complete open SUPERAntiSpyware and press the Preferences button. Under the General and Startup tab, uncheck the following (leaving all other settings as is).

Start-up Options:
*Start SUPERAntiSpyware when Windows starts

Automatic Updates:
*Check for program updates when the application starts.

Start-up Scanning:
*Check for updates before scanning on startup.

Then select Close. Don't scan just yet though.

Also Go Here and download ATF cleaner. Click on the downloaded file to run it, and select "Select All", then click Empty Selected (and close ATF).

If you have them, also click on Firefox/Opera at the top and repeat the steps (and close ATF). Firefox/Opera will need to be closed first for the cleaning to be effective.

===============================================

Reboot into Safe Mode (at startup tap the F8 key and select Safe Mode).

Open SUPERAntiSpyware and click the Scan your Computer button. Making sure that Fixed Drive (NTFS) is checked (typically the C Drive), check "Perform Complete Scan", then click Next. SUPERAntiSpyware will now complete a system scan.

SUPERAntiSpyware will now scan your computer and when its finished it will list all the infections it has found. Make sure that they all have a check next to them and click next. If prompted allow the reboot (or manually reboot at this time), and after the reboot open SUPERAntiSpyware again (double click the bug-shaped Taskbar icon).

Click Preferences, then under the Statistics/Logs tab, click to select the most recent Scan Log, then click View Log. Save the log to your desktop, and copy/paste the text from the log back here.

=========================================

After the reboot to normal mode
Download ComboFix.exe from here to your desktop, and click the downloaded file to run the repair.

When the command window opens, select 1 (and Enter). Allow the scan to run. When completed a text window will appear - please copy/paste the contents back here. This log can also be found at C:\ComboFix.txt.

A caution - do not touch your mouse/keyboard until the scan has completed. The scan will temporarily disable your desktop, and if interrupted may leave your desktop disabled. If this occurs, please reboot to restore the desktop.

And post back a new HijackThis log along with the combofix.txt log and the SUPERAntiSpyware log please.
alright ran scan either i did something wrong all was removed but the log is completely gone not showing up i will run this other though

You'll need to run at least another new Super scan so I can see verification of what was removed, even if it is a second run of that. Looking improved though, and good to see the ComboFix author added ISM. Do the following then post back that Super log when completed.

As I just mentioned to another person in our forum here, if you choose you can at some point uninstall the following through Add/Remove Programs:

Just a mention, if you choose you can at some point uninstall the following through Add/Remove Programs:

Viewpoint Manager Usually only installed in agreement with some other company in order to get this software on your system. Actually, I'm not sure I've ever actually seen a Viewpoint file. Their main web page touts their advertising proficiencies.

You also do what appears to be trialing too many softwares that can make permanent and undesirable changes. At least two reg cleaners - in fact, have you tried yet to see if there is an uninstall option for Max Registry Cleaner? I seem to recall folks found this was more an aggressive sales promo than a benefit.

Close Internet Explorer and all running programs and run a scan in HijackThis. Place a check next to all of the following lines, then select “Fix Checked” and close HijackThis.

Disable your antivirus program (remember to re-enable it once this scan is complete) and go here (be sure to re-enable it after the scan completes) and run an online scan with BitDefender (you will need to use Internet Explorer for this scan). When the ActiveX Control has loaded, click on "Click here to scan" and take a break for a while.

When BitDefender completes the scan, select the "Detected Problems" tab. Click on "Click here to export the scan report". Save the file as an HTML to your Desktop. Then click on the saved file and allow it to open with your browser. Go to Edit - Select All. Then copy/paste that log back here.
ok i tried do what u ask export stuff but it wouldn't do it, but i did save it copy and paste now but it didn't deleted so now what am i suppose to deleted with another button on the program /—————————————————————– // // Product BitDefender Free Edition v10 // Product 10.2 // // Created on: 12/08/2007 18:36:31 // //—————————————————————– Virus Statistics Scan path : C:\ D:\ F:\ Folders : 12991 Files : 50639 Memory processes scanned : 44 Archives : 6 Runtime packers : 3527 Identified viruses : 1 Infected files : 1 Memory processes infected : 0 Suspect files : 0 Warnings : 0 Disinfected files : 0 Deleted files : 0 Moved files : 1 I/O errors : 10 Scan time : 00:35:30 Scan speed (files/sec) : 23 Spyware Statistics Registry keys scanned : 1744 Registry keys infected : 0 Cookies scanned : 23 Cookies infected : 0 Spyware files infected : 0 Spyware threats detected : 0 Virus definitions : 754786 Scan plugins : 16 Archive plugins : 40 Unpack plugins : 6 Mail plugins : 6 System plugins : 5 Virus scan options Detection [X] Scan boot sectors [X] Memory Processes [ ] Scan archives [X] Scan runtime packers [X] Scan email File mask [X] Programs [ ] All files [ ] User defined extensions: [ ] Exclude extensions: ; Action Infected objects [ ] Ignore [X] Disinfect [ ] Delete [ ] Move to quarantine [ ] Prompt user Second action [ ] Ignore [ ] Delete [X] Move to quarantine [ ] Prompt user Virus scan options [X] Enable warnings [ ] Enable heuristics [ ] Show all files in log [X] Report file: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Bitdefender\Desktop\Profiles\Logs\full_scan\1186961791.log Spyware scan options [X] Scan for riskware [ ] Skip dial and applications from scan [X] Registry keys [X] Cookies Summary: C:\Documents and Settings\Gary\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\WF2ZI92X\ewoprewiopipoxzcs[1].htm Infected: Exploit.HTML.IESlice.E C:\Documents and Settings\Gary\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\WF2ZI92X\ewoprewiopipoxzcs[1].htm Disinfection failed C:\Documents and Settings\Gary\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\WF2ZI92X\ewoprewiopipoxzcs[1].htm Moved
It moved that one IE temp file it located - if IE is in use it's temp files are protected so more difficult to delete. Looks like not much more here though - things running okay?
so far no crazy pop ups only problem i had was my msn messenger kept logging back in after i exited it ok how do i remove them
I hadn't seen a BitDefender file move in the past, though if it found a file infected it would likely set it to delete on reboot. If things are corrected now just need to clean up. You can delete the tools we used here. You would know best where some files are placed, but in general you can delete: Folders: C:\Qoobox Files: ComboFix.txt ComboFix.exe C:\ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt And best to clear the System Restore as well. To do this, right-click My Computer and select Properties. Click the System Restore tab in the window that appears, and check the box that says "Turn off System Restore on all drives" and click Apply. You will be asked if you are sure, click Yes. This will delete the restore points. Then click OK in the Properties window and reboot your computer. When your desktop appears, right-click My Computer and select Properties once more. Uncheck the "Turn off System Restore…" box and click Apply. OK.
Hun where would i find theses folder at files i don't see in my documents also i mentiom tom coyote on my radio show and sending ppl ur way told tell u eagle send them hope its ok
