[Closed]Ie7 Not Responding And Needing To Close!

I have been receiving error windows saying that Internet Explorer is having a problem and needs to close. I suspect spyware and ran a Hijack this log. Appreciate knowing what is causing this and if any problems with log. Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the forum. Sorry about the delay in responding :( If you still need help, Scan again with HijackThis, and copy/paste" a new log file into this thread. Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Thank you for response. It is getting worse. Error windows "choose cancel" or "end now". In addition, the printer is acting peculiar. Several times closing into hibernation mode would not permit with print spooler error. Coincidently today, bulk email which normally is empty or might have one, has 8 mostly from addresses at prodigy.net. Don't know if related as on a server, however access work email from home and their email is loaded with spam. Not sure if would effect home system though. Thank you for your help!

Download - ATF Cleaner»

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.


(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time.

Download ComboFix from Here to your Desktop.
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you, combofix.txt. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

I don't see anything bad in your log. Lets try this: Uninstall Internet Explorer 7 to return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel." Click "Add or Remove Programs." Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box. Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 that you are running, and then click "Change/Remove." Let me know if you're still getting the same errors.
