I get messages saying windows explorer encountered a problem. also drwatson things popup. ive ran cc cleaner and cleaned what it said but it still does it.

Hi jennyg,

We are sorry for not getting back to you sooner. As you can probably see, we are very busy here and there are more posts for help than there are qualified help to deal with them. With that said...

I'm not seeing anything malicious at this point but I do have one MAJOR observation. You do not have any Antivirus software. In today's day and age this is an absolute must and with some excellent free programs for personal use there is no excuse. So the first thing I would like you to do is choose one, install it, update and run a full system scan. Here a couple of good choices. Please use only one though.

AVG AntiVirus
Avast Antivirus Home Version--Free

Make sure you update first before running a scan. Let it either fix or quarantine anything it finds. Then post a fresh HJT log and let me know how it's running.
