Like a fool I installed an application (which I have now have no access to sadly) infected my machine. Unfortunately for me my Norton AV was down at the time and I took a gamble. It didn't pay off. To get my machine to function again I went for the 2 pronged attack by, shutting down many unknown processes within Task Manager, installing SpyBot, then reinstalling Norton AV.

My machine is pretty stable although it continually tries to install MagicSpy, tells me my machine is infected and I can't with all my knowledge and experience clear it as yet. This is the only post I have made on recommendation from a friend and have run HijackThis and collected the log. See below;

Hello :)

Rename HijackThis.exe to Scanner.exe by doing the following;
  • Navigate to here; C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis
  • Right-click on the HijackThis.exe
  • Choose from the pull-down menu; "Rename"
  • And now Rename HijackThis.exe to Scanner.exe
  • When you're renamed HijackThis, then open it..
  • Take a fresh HijackThis log (Do a system scan and save a log file)
  • Post the fresh HijackThis log to here.

Hello :)

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Hi Markka, I did run this application and it came across 3 files it could not remove after the machine had restarted, one of them being nnnonmj.dll. I will run VundoFix.exe again and ComboFix.exe which should give us the names of the 3 sticky dll files. I did also try booting up into safe mode with command prompt but they can't be deleted. Many hours spent on that :) Regards, Michael :wavey:
