Hi Madserj , Can you post A new log. Also did you do the others that I requested? I want to see the new log and see where these are : 1. Small CQB-Desc. 2. Spyware Bomb-Desc. 3. eXactBullseyenetwork-Desc. 4. Caishow-Desc. after you run hjt and save a new log close HJT please reopen hjt, and clik on open the misc tool section. Then click on open uninstall manager. Then click on save list. remember where you save it. now post the new log and the uninstall list. When you do the hjt scann close system mech 6. Good luck mschroe919
Hi again

Like i say, the AVG would not let me save the log despite doing everything you said. I will run HJT again and post the findings in a minute.

The 4 infections are still coming up everytime i get rid of them, they show up in a new scan. What should i do about the AVG problem? It took nearly two hours to scan!!!

Madserj
don't worry about the AVG for now please get the uninstall list and post it too. Lets disable your system mech 6 for now till we get your pc cleaned out. thanks mschroe919
Hello, Sorry, but where do i get the uninstall list from? So you want a complete list of everything that is eligible for uninstall? I am a bit thick on computers, hence me being here :) Sorry. Madserj
Hi Madserj
first off about this:

I am a bit thick on computers

don't get down on yourself, your doing great. We all had to start somewhere. In a little while you will be cleaned, but we must stay the course and not run other clean up programs till we get done here.

please reopen hjt, and on menu that comes up, clik on open the misc tool section. Then click on open uninstall manager. Then click on save list.
remember where you save it. now post the new log and the uninstall list.
When you do the hjt scann close system mech 6. we should leave mech 6 disabled till we finish it looks like it is interfearing with our fixes.
So lets see I want the list you saved from the uninstall log, and a new hjt log. Not to worry about doing thing over and over cause sometime it has to be that way.
Good luck mschroe919

Hi Madserj ,
Please read and follow the next step in it's entirety:
Before you do the following, make sure all the other programs such as
SiteAdvisor
System Mechanic Professional 6
Tea Timer are all disabled.
Don't run any other programs till we are done here.
Download Blacklight Beta from here:
https://europe.f-secure.com/exclude/blacklight/fsbl.exe
* Download fsbl.exe and save it to the C:\
Go to Start–>Run, copy in the following text and press Enter:
C:\fsbl.exe /expert

(space between fsbl.exe and /expert)

Accept the agreement, leave [X]scan through Windows Explorer checked.
Click > scan, Then > next
You'll see a list of all items found.
Don't choose Rename if something was found!
Exit.
There will be a log in C:\ with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (the xxxxxxx stand for numbers).
Copy and paste the contents of this log into your next reply.

So, next , I will be looking for the Blacklight log
good luck mschroe919
Hello, I have tried what you suggested ^^^ An error page pops up to say that the specified path could not be found. The program was d-loaded to my desktop if that matters. Madserj :)
Hello
I am not sure what you mean:
The program was d-loaded to my desktop
If you mean the program was loaded to the desk top, see if you can install and run it off the desk top. Let me know.

If it is not around anywhere on your PC…
Lets try it this way…

Download Blacklight trial from here:
http://www.f-secure.com/blacklight/

* Hit I accept. It will take you to download page.
* Download blbeta.exe and save it to the Desktop.
* Once saved… double click blbeta.exe to install the program.
* Click accept agreement and Click scan
This app too may fire off a warning from antivirus. Let the driver load.
Wait for it to finish.
* If it displays any items…don't do anything with them yet. Just hit exit (close)
* It will drop a log on Desktop that starts with fsbl….big number

Please post contents of log.
mschroe919
Hi, Sorry if i confused things with my last post. Hi Madserj,
So far now I see your log is looking clean. Lets do this now:
Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.

Download Here:
http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1

After install
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

NEXT:

Run scann.exe, and press Scan, and put a check against the following entries,
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

Then close all windows except Hijackthis and click Fix Checked

Next:

Please download System Security Suite.
when you get to the site, would pay for you to read all the stuff there.

Extract it from the zip file into a folder.

Get it here:
http://www.igorshpak.net/

Run 3S under “Items To Clear” tab place a checkmark in all of them but the last.

Reboot and Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.

Also please describe how your computer behaves now.
There will be more to do when I see the next post.<<<Some things to keep your PC clean
Your doing well
Good luck mschroe919
Hello,

First off, cheers for being such a great help. I really appreciate all of your time and effort. Secondly, i have performed all of your last post, and here's my new log. The two things you asked me to check on the last HJT scan have appeared again for your info. My computer is running quite quickly at the moment and feels stable!!!

Use an Anti Virus Software
It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future. See these links for a listing of some on line & their stand-alone anti virus programs:
If you don't have one here are some of the better AV products.

Symantec/Norton Antivirus: http://www.symantec.com/nav/nav_9xnt/
Kapersky AV: http://www.kaspersky.com/buyonline.html?info=25
Nod32 : http://www.nod32.com/home/home.htm
Panda AV: http://www.pandasoftware.com/
McAfee Virusscan: http://us.mcafee.com/root/package.asp?pkgid=100
AVG Anti-Virus (Free version available) http://www.grisoft.com/

Update your Anti Virus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Anti virus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your anti virus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.
============================================================
NEXT:

Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is susceptible to being hacked and taken over. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly.
If you don't have one see link below for a free firewall:

ZoneAlarm:

Sunbelt Kerio:

================================================================================

Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Install and download Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option.

This will provide real-time spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an anti virus software

Get the download and tutorial for Spybot S&D here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial43.html
=========================================================================

Install Ad-Aware
Install and download Ad-Aware. You should also scan your computer with the program on a regular basis just as you would an anti virus software in conjunction with Spybot. The download and tutorial on installing & using Ad-aware can be found here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial48.html

====================================================================

Install SpywareBlaster
SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs. A article on anti-malware products with links for this program and others can be found here:

http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
========================================================================

Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.

Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.
Happy surfing the net

I only ask one thing….please
Please post back and let us know what you think about our forum, we are all volunteers and would like a little smile.

Good luck Mschroe919

PS
don't forget to enable the stuff you turned off, before the fixes.
mschroe919, Many many thanks for all of your patient help, advice and friendly easy to follow advice. All of you guys and girls work very hard to help others which is fantastic, showing that there are some nice people still left. I will follow your advice. One thing….. i have installed Firefox browser as it is deemed to be more secure than IE. Regarding the security settings you instructed me to change/set in your last post, will it be the same for Firefox? Once again, thank-you so so much. This  has now turned to :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I am pretty sure some of the IE security stuff will work on firefox too.
Also thanks for the kind words.
