Hello everyone, the main problems are that our computer is running a bit slow, HiJack This keeps informing me that we have a (please keep in mind thar I am a newbie, this is my first time asking for help like this in any forum, so please be gentle. lol. I have read the rules and intend to follow them, and I appreciate that there are people out there who are willing to help people like me. I am disabled and hence low-income. I could not afford help otherwise, so thank you so much), anyways, this is word for word what HJT is reporting we have that I am mainly concerned about.
O20 - Winlogon Notify: WgaLogon - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WgaLogon.dll
Also, the divx or a video codec of some sort seems to be messed up. When we play divx movies, a lot of the time, I screen will suddenly clear itself into nothing but lines and it becomes completely unresponsive and we have to restart it. (I'm not sure you help with this, or wheter it's codec problem or not, but I thought I'd mention it just in case because it is a problem.) If there is anything else dangerous in this HJT scan, please let me know how to remove it and how to get my computer back to normal. Thanks again, if you need more info please ask me. Here is my scan from HJT that I ran today (I made NO attempts to fix anything with HJT, I did however, run scans with my CSA anti-virus, (from yahoo security center),and also the antispy program by the same company. I also ran AVG Antispy,(which found 3 medium threat adware's and I quarentined and deleted them all.), Ad-Aware, CCleaner, Advanced Windows Care V2 Personal, and Spyware blaster.
So here, is the HJT scan, I will check back here a few times daily to see if there are any replies because we really need help with this. Thanks so much again in advance everyone!

Lesley and Andy :D

Welcome to Tom Coyote, so sorry for the late reply, we get so busy around here and your post may have fallen through the cracks.

O20 - Winlogon Notify: WgaLogon - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WgaLogon.dll <– This is legit and if you remove it you won't be able to log onto windows so leave it alone.

This will clean up your system

*NOTE* CCleaner deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders. If you have anything in a temp folder, back it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running CCleaner!

Download CCleaner from here to clean temp files from your computer.
  • Double click on the file to start the installation of the program.
  • Select your language and click OK, then next.
  • Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
  • Click next to use the default install location. Click Install then finish to complete installation.
  • Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program.
  • On the "Windows" tab, under "Internet Explorer," uncheck "Cookies" if you do not want them deleted. (If deleted, you will likely need to reenter your passwords at all sites where a cookie is used to recognize you when you visit).
  • If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for "Cookies" is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla.
  • Click on the "Options" icon at the left side of the window, then click on "Advanced."
deselect "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours."
  • Click on the "Cleaner" icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program.
  • Caution: It is not recommended that you use the "Issues" feature unless you are very familiar with the registry as it has been known to find legitimate items.
  • After CCleaner has completed its process, click Exit.
Your log is a month old, do this
C:\Program Files\hijackthis<– Delete this and lets download and install the latest version from Trendmicro

Download and install Trendmicros Hijackthis

Download the Trendmicro Hijackthis Installer, follow defauts and it will install in C:\Program Files\Trendmicro\Hijackthis and this is exactly where we want it to be.
  • Open HJT Scan and Save a Log File, it will open in Notepad
  • Go to Format and make sure Wordwrap is Unchecked
  • Go to Edit> Select All…..Edit > Copy and Paste the new log into this thread by using the Post Reply and not start a New Thread.
DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Post a new log and if all looks well I can direct you to a forum that deals with windows and software issues
