Hello Dude it's Cory and welcome to the TomCoyote Forums

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your problem.

A. I notice from the log that there are running more than one different Anti-Virus programs with Auto-protect enabled. Avast, Symantec and one from Verizon. You also have two software firewalls going, one from Symantec and the other from Verizon.
Never install more than one Antivirus and Firewall! Rather than giving you extra protection, it will decrease the reliability of it seriously!
The reason for this is that if all products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time.
Also because more than one Antivirus and Firewall installed are not compatible with each other, it can cause system performance problems and a serious system slowdown.

So you have to make a decision here and keep the Antivirus and the Firewall you prefer and uninstall the others.
Then reboot after uninstalling.

B. Some trojans have a way of masking their presence from the HijackThis program when they recognize the name. I think that this is the case here because there are no 02 or 020 entries visible in your log.

Please locate the following file C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\HijackThis.exe
Next, right click on the file and from the popup menu that appears, choose the RENAME option and rename the file Killer.exe.

From now on, when I ask you to start HijackThis, just click on the Killer.exe file.

C. Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

D. Please download this file - combofix.exe by sUBs
  • Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to post in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log.
Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

E. Reports/logs tp Post
  • VundoFix.txt
  • ComboFix.txt
  • New HijackThis.log
Regards,

Trevuren
thanks. I will be sure to do that next time i am down at my grandmas so it might be a longer time to completely solve the problem. unless there is a way for me to connect and be able to be in control of her computer while im at my house. What do you think of the verizon internet security bundle. I tell them its no good and a waste of money because it didn't even detect a virus.
I prefer to not use bundled applications that come with ISPs. There are a lot of good products available and some are free. Click on the links at the bottom of the page in my signature Box and you should be able to get all the information that you require to make your decision. Inasmuch as you will not be finishing this topic in the near future, I am going to close it and ask you to open a new one when you are at your grandmother's. Things will have changed a lot probably by then. Regards, Trevuren.
