This is my hijackthis logfile
I went to trenmicro, to remove this and it couldn't , when I click on instruction for manual removal, hijacked to another screen to re scan. I don't know how to go into registry, and as I had read others advice press windows key + E, on the keyboard, it just brings up folders icons, and I'm lost there. I do know how to go into save mode, keep pressing the F8 key.. I appreciate any help.

Hi Lady_Pamela,

Don't worry we'll take care of any malware on your system, if you have any questions about the instructions I post then please stop and ask.

You have a program called Spyhunter installed on your computer. This program was until recently classified as a Rogue antispyware program. Typically, these programs do not provide any security benefits, and use false positives to goad users into purchasing a full version of the program. Due to it's dubious past, I strongly suggest you remove it - to do so, open Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, look down the list for Spyhunter and remove it.

Temporarily disable Spyware Doctor
Open Spyware Doctor, click the OnGuard button on the left side, press Click to deactivate OnGuard and OK the prompt
OnGuard will now be deactivated for 15 minutes, either complete the HijackThis instructions within that time or repeat this procedure

Then, open HijackThis, choose Do a system scan only and place a checkmark next to the following lines (if present):
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…/search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…/search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE

Then close all open windows apart from HijackThis, press Fix checked, OK the prompt and close HijackThis.

Next, please do an online scan with Kaspersky:

Open Kaspersky Online Scanner in Internet Explorer

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky,
Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT and then Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
    Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
    • Scan Options:
    Scan Archives
    Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
  • The program will start to scan your system.
  • Once the scan is complete, click on the Save as Text button and save the file to your desktop
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license is accepted, reset to 100%.

Once complete, please post the Kaspersky log and a new HijackThis log
Thank you for you help Silver, I took your advise and removed Spyhunter, all things listed were found and check, got out of and closed al windows and let Hijacker clean and delete. Here is the report from Kaspersky, followed by Hijacker, after Kaspersky, I went back to Hijacker and re scaned, it looks like more work is needed, Thank you for your help in getting my pc cleaned up. I is running faster now.

Hi Lady_Pamela,

Great job, those logs look very good, please run a couple further scans to make sure we have got everything:

Please download F-Secure Blacklight
  • Click I ACCEPT and download the graphical user interface version to your Desktop
  • Double click the file to run it, choose I accept the agreement then press Scan
  • It will create the fsbl-xxxxxxx.log on your desktop.
  • The log will have a list of all items found.
  • Do not choose to rename any yet! I want to see the log first because legitimate items can also be present.
  • Exit Blacklight and post the contents of the log in your next reply.
Then download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS)
  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  • Make sure Format->Word Wrap is unchecked
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your reply
Once complete, please post the Blacklight log and both DSS logs, you won't need to produce a new HijackThis log as DSS produces one for you. The logs may not fit into one post so please check that they are complete and use multiple posts if necessary.
Thank you for you quick reply Silver, I don't know how to get the log from F-Sucure Blacklight there doesn't seam to be a save or copy log. unless I can right click select all then paste.???
Hi,

You don't need to do anything with Blacklight to save the log, it's done automatically.

When downloading fsbl.exe, make sure you save it to your Desktop before running it.
Then, after running the program you will find a text file called something like fsbl-20070704011432.log on your Desktop. Open this using Notepad, copy all the contents and paste it into your next response.
Silver thank you again now I will scan with the other one. 07/03/07 17:19:25 [Info]: BlackLight Engine 1.0.64 initialized 07/03/07 17:19:25 [Info]: OS: 5.1 build 2600 (Service Pack 2) 07/03/07 17:19:25 [Note]: 7019 4 07/03/07 17:19:25 [Note]: 7005 0 07/03/07 17:19:41 [Note]: 7007 0

Hi Lady_Pamela,

Your logs look clean of malware :) however there are some important further steps:

Create a new, clean System Restore point which you can use in case of future system problems:
Press Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore
Select Create a restore point, then Next, type a name like clean then press the Create button and once it's done press Close

Now remove old, infected System Restore points:
Next click Start->Run and type cleanmgr in the box and press OK
Ensure the boxes for Temporary Files and Temporary Internet Files are checked, you can choose to check other boxes if you wish but they are not required.
Select the More Options tab, under System Restore press Clean up… and say Yes to the prompt
Press OK and Yes to confirm

Your version of AVG Antivirus may be outdated - your Add/Remove Programs list shows AVG version 7.1 and the current version is 7.5 - please open http://free.grisoft.com, download the latest version and update.

Your Java is outdated and is now a security risk
Go to Start » Control Panel » Add/Remove Programs
Remove all these entries:

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 8
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9
Java™ SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1

Then, download and install the newest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE), from here:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

You have a program called WildTangent and related games installed. These are not malware, but the program does gather information about your computer, and may slow it down. I recommend you uninstall these and choose different games, but it's up to you. If you wish to uninstall these programs, you can do so by opening Add/Remove Programs and removing these:

Betty Bad
Blackhawk Striker
Blasterball 2
Blasterball Wild
Dark Orbit
Disney's Lilo and Stitch Pinball
Men in Black II CROSSFIRE Trial Version
PigPen
Snowboard Extreme
Space Rocks
Virtual Warfare
WildTangent Channel Manager

You can now delete fsbl.exe and dss.exe from your Desktop.

Here are some tips to help you keep your computer clean:

You have good protection software installed however please ensure it is kept up to date. Check that your antivirus and antispyware programs are set to automatically update themselves daily, and that your firewall is the latest version.

You should consider installing a Personal Firewall program. Even if you are behind a NAT router, I recommend you use firewall software as it will improve the security of your computer by monitoring and controlling outbound connections to the internet as well as inbound. There are various free packages available, such as Sunbelt Personal Firewall and Zone Alarm:
http://www.sunbelt-software.com/Home-Home-…sonal-Firewall/
http://www.zonelabs.com/

Spywareblaster is a free program which prevents the download and installation of Internet Explorer ActiveX based malware by immunizing your system against it. You can download Spywareblaster from here and a tutorial to help you get started is available here.

Consider a custom hosts file such as MVPS HOSTS. This custom hosts file effectively blocks a wide range of unwanted ads, banners, 3rd party Cookies, 3rd party page counters, web bugs, and many hijackers.
For information on how to download and install, please read this tutorial by WinHelp2002
If you install this, be sure to follow the DNS Client service instructions before doing so.

Please take care when downloading programs. One of the easiest ways to be infected is to download freeware/shareware programs which come laden with malware. Before downloading, it is crucial to check whether the source is reputable.
One way to check is to use McAfee SiteAdvisor. Copy the domain name into the space provided and SiteAdvisor will give you a report on the website which can help you decide if it is safe. They also have a toolbar for IE and Firefox which adds this functionality to your browser.

Please post back to let me know that you have read this, and if there are any further issues.
Silver, thank you, I can't say enough for your help. I'm on my way now to follow your instructions to the T . those games came in the computer when I bought it, part of the program they put in at HP. God bless you, Pamela
