You can remove any programs / Tools I had you install. Use Add/Remove Programs to remove if listed there otherwise just delete them and empty recycle bin.

Log looks good :D

You need to create a new Clean restore point.

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Check "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders."
Check "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

If you dont have any programs like these, I would recommend that you get them.
Spywareblaster,
Spywareguard.

Also get a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

Only run one Anti-Virus and Firewall program.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Do not use Ad-aware if you have McAfee's VirusScan and AntiSpyware

Safe Surfing. :D

I would also suggest you read this:
So how did I get infected in the first place?
by Tony Klein
I need to add one more thing that I've noticed. When I chose to reboot or shut the machine down, it will start to do so by closing a few programs in the systray. Then, it will restart some of them and won't reboot. It takes telling it to reboot a second time before it does. BTW, I'm sending this on another computer while the computer in question is working. While typing this, the computer has come back up. Ad-aware is tell me that the following programs want to change reg entries: C:\windows\ime\imkr6_1\imekrmig.exe Also, rundll32 c:\progra~1\newdot~1\newdot~1.dll c:\program files\common files\system\ms2src.exe /install c:\program files\common files\system\mplay64.exe c:\program files\rxtoolbar\semantic insight\semanticinsight c:\windows\system\P2P networking\P2P networking.exe I told ad-aware to block them I also did hardrive searches of these files and none were found except for the first one. On second reboot, ad-aware did not mention any of the above items and the NewDot error message has returned. Should I have not had ad-aware block those items?
Actually, I've learned that the first item is a windows item. I was able to take care of the others using HJT. All problems seem to have been taken acre of now. Thanks.

One last question: Is there a specific free Antivirus suite you would recommend for this computer?

Another problem I'm having is that there are some windows updates that fail during install. I was hoping that cleaning up this computer would help that. Here's the log file again to be sure all is still good after a few reboots.

One last question: Is there a specific free Antivirus suite you would recommend for this computer?

You have AVG7 which should be fine.

Another problem I'm having is that there are some windows updates that fail during install. I was hoping that cleaning up this computer would help that.

You're not the only one. I have same issues with some updates. Look at the error and contact M$.

c:\program files\common files\system\ms2src.exe /install
c:\program files\common files\system\mplay64.exe
c:\program files\rxtoolbar\semantic insight\semanticinsight
c:\windows\system\P2P networking\P2P networking.exe

Those are all bad. Did you use msconfig and uncheck those?
I'm at work, so I'll post a fix after work.
Is the Ad-Aware SE Professional software free version or paid for? It doesn't look like Ad-Watch wants to disable, so we need to uninstall it, but you'll need to re-install it after we're finished. I want you to be sure you have whatever you need to re-install it first.
Sorry, been out of town for a few days and didn't want this thread to be locked. I believe it is a freeware version. In any case, I'll uninstall it, reboot a few times and run get a new HJT log. I'll do that this evening and post the log. Thanks for all your help.
I've installed ad aware and ran HJT again after a few reboots. Everything seems to be ok now…with the exception of some updates failing. Here's the new log:
