7/02/2007 ~ "The Audio Update 2007-001 addresses an issue with version 1.0 of the Mac OS X 10.4.10 Update in which a "popping" sound might be heard with some external speakers on Intel-based Mac. This update is recommended for all Intel-based Macs running Mac OS X 10.4.10.

Installing Audio Update 2007-001
This update is available via Software Update, and as a standalone update from Apple Support Downloads*. This update can be installed only if the Mac OS X 10.4.10 Update client (or Universal Server) update is already installed. Note: Version 1.1 of the Mac OS X 10.4.10 Update is not affected by this issue and does not require the Audio Update 2007-001 update."
