Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Hi LDTate. I deleted the items you told me to. My computer seems to be running fine. I checked with spyware detecter(fix registry), and that item is still refusing to be deleted. But with an ally like you, I have no worries. Here is my new HJ log:

I checked with spyware detecter(fix registry), and that item is still refusing to be deleted

I guess I'm not convinced that key is bad. What is the full and exact entry?

Maybe this will give us a look.

Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you, combofix.txt.Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall
Hi LDTate. Weekend finally got here! Here is a full description of that item that refuses to be deleted:
hkey_users\s-1-18\software\microsoft\internet explorer\main\start page\"http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redi
I'm not sure whether this key is bad either, but I thought it might be the explanation for some anomalies on my computer.
For example: my internet provider, Adelphia, has been taken over by Comcast, so I have two home pages right now. The icons on my desktop to these sites has changed to something completely different, and then just as mysteriously, gone back to my own icons. Also now and again my security program will warn my that my home page is trying to be redirected by that site that we're trying to delete. I also get warnings on a regular basis that some program is trying to modify windows settings, namely: nolowdiskspace option. Pretty strange, huh? Sometimes this warning will show up right after bootup, other times it will show up at random times. I'm also getting strange spam that makes no sense at all. I delete these now without reading them. The last one had an atatchment with it which is kinda scary. The title of the spam also made me think that someone could me aware of my activities on the computer. I got a link to your website from a website called Just answer. The title of the spam which was from "poet chaser" was called "Please accept my answer". This could just be a coincidence, but it sure seems suspicious. I downloaded Combofix.exe, but when I open it , it briefly shows a window, then disappears. I tried both your links, and the same thing happened. I'm sure all this makes some sense to you, but to me its "Twightlight Zone" material! Here is my new HJ log:

Thanks again for your help!!!
HI again! For some reason my computer is not able to run combofix. A small window will very briefly open up and then just as quickly close. I'm sure I'm doing everything right. Any advice?
Did you make sure it was downloaded to your desktop?

You can also try this:

Click Start » Run - then copy/paste this into the run box & click OK :

"%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe"
HI. I did download combofix to my destktop, and I also did the copy and paste in run you suggested, but my computer is not cooperating. Does this in itself mean something?
