As of this posting I was able to get to the site. Are you using Internet Explorer or FireFox?
If you still have troubles you can try this one.

Download and run Sysclean
  • Create a folder on your desktop called Sysclean.
  • Go to http://www.trendmicro.com/download/sysclean.asp and download sysclean package to the folder you made.
  • Go to http://www.trendmicro.com/download/pattern.asp and download the Virus Pattern File (Official Pattern Release) to your desktop.
This file will be called lptXXX.zip (XXX represents the version number)
  • Unzip lptXXX.zip and you'll get the file lpt$vpn.XXX.
Read here how to unzip/extract properly.
  • Move the lpt$vpn.XXX to the Sysclean-folder you created on your desktop.
  • Open the sysclean-folder and doubleclick sysclean.com.
  • Check: "Automatically clean or delete detected files".
  • Click scan.
Open your sysclean-folder and copy and paste the contents of sysclean.log in your next reply.

Hi Marco25,

Need to remove this file

Using Windows Explore by right-clicking the Start button and left clicking Explore navigate to and find the following files: if found, delete the following (some may not be present after previous steps):

C:\WINDOWS\ntmusis32.exe

*=========================*

Then can I see a new uninstall list and hijackthis log please.

If all comes back OK we'll finish up

Thanks,
Rogue

Marco25,

Start HijackThis as you did to generate a log, but this time click on 'Do a system scan only'.
Place a checkmark in the boxes to the left of the following entries, by clicking on them:

O15 - Trusted Zone: *.frame.crazywinnings.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.frame.crazywinnings.com (HKLM)

CLOSE ALL OPEN WINDOWS AND BROWSERS - EXCEPT HJT and click on Fix checked
*=========================*

That file is in your system restore which we will clean out shortly.

*=========================*

Now my rant. For whatever reason you keep trying to convince me by altering logs that you have updated to SP2. Evident by the GMER log, latest uninstall list and entries in the hjt log, that you have not.

Go to the following website and create a post in the
"WGA Validation Problems" forum and paste the
results of the WGA Diagnostic Data in a detailed post.
http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/default.aspx?SiteID=25
A WGA troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and
recommend an appropriate solution.

If you have an illegal copy of Windows, you have an option to pay for it and make it good, uninstall and go to a free version of Linux, or just deal with all the insecurities and problems you now have, TC does not support the use of illegal software.

4. Click Folder Options.
5. Select the View Tab.

7. Select Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
8. Check the Hide file extensions for known file types option.
9. Click Yes.
10. Click OK.

*========================*

Flush System Restore
Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
Select Create a Restore Point, and then click Ok

Next, go to Start > Run and type in cleanmgr
Select the More Options tab
Choose the option to Clean Up System Restore and select OK.
This will remove all restore points except the new one you just created

This is my post for when you are All Clean - which you seem to be.

But to help protect you against further infections, and also to help prevent criminals using your computer to infect other people's computers on the web, I recommend the following: (You may already have some of the items or completed steps)

Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
  • From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
  • Click once on the Security tab
  • Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
  • Click once on the Custom Level button.
    • Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
    • Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
    • Change the Initialise and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
    • Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
    • Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
    • Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
    • When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
    • If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
  • Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.
Use an Anti Virus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future. See this link for a listing of some on line & their stand-alone anti virus programs:
Click here for more information on -> Computer Safety On line - Anti-Virus
In case you do NOT have any antivirus software installed in your computer or yours has expired, you may use one of the following.Update your Anti Virus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Anti virus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your anti virus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.

Use a Firewall - this keeps your computer safe from hackers AS WELL AS from several computer viruses (mostly worms) which spread through the internet by using security holes of Windows. Have in mind that these are FREE FULL versions of the software and they lack of some features available in their shareware versions. Nevertheless, the FREE versions are capable of providing a basic firewall protection to your computer.Click here for more information on Firewalls -> Computer Safety On line - Software Firewalls

Hi Rogue, I'm sorry im dealing with microsoft about my validation problems with my license on this pc. It was initially used for work purposes and now i have had problems with the system when i took it over. I need to purchase another license for the 2 computers i have, they are working on it and i can give you my ticket number if you want, i may be just going to vista shortly. Im sorry but i didn't really want to explain this whole story, thus i tried to show im on sp2 so we can move on. I also have had sp2 on my other system and notice major differences and slow downs with sp2 for video programming. They actually suggest to stay clear of it. Just felt like clarifing!
Hi Markco,

Thanks for clarifing. No need to show ticket number.

About those two entries that keep appearing.

Open Notepad and copy and paste quotebox in it:

regedit /e peek1.txt "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains"
regedit /e peek2.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains"
type peek1.txt >> zone.txt
type peek2.txt >> zone.txt
del peek*.txt
start notepad zone.txt

Save this as look.bat , choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.
Doubleclick on look.bat and post the contents of it in your next reply.

hi Marco25,

Please do the following:
Go to the Start menu, choose Run, and in the window type regedit and press Enter.

Click File > Export

Save In: Use your default save location
Under filename save as: Backup{date}

In the left-hand panel of the Registry Editor, navigate to the key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains

Underneath this key in the left-hand panel there may be a subkey for frame.crazywinnings.com If this keys exist, delete it by right mouse clicking, then delete

Then navigate in the left-hand panel to the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains

Again, if in the left-hand panel there is a subkey for frame.crazywinnings.com, delete it.

Let me know how it goes

Rogue
Ok its done! I found them on both occasions and deleted. Question there was alot of junk in there from other users on this pc, is it safe to assume everything thats garbage in there can be removed? Just asking not attempting to do anything. As far as a few steps back, do i go back and do them now, to get back on track? What exactly is a site like that doing in the registry? Thanks i appreciate it!
Hi Marco25, If you have scanned with Hijackthis and these entries O15 - Trusted Zone: *.frame.crazywinnings.com O15 - Trusted Zone: *.frame.crazywinnings.com (HKLM) are gone, then yes you can continue with the cleanup as outlined a few posts ago. Also I forgot to add that you can remove the tool, GMER that I had you download. It is generally not recommended that sites be in the Trusted Zone..what that is saying it that I trust anything being sent to me from that site. Should a good site become hijacked then you're open to whatever they send you. However some business applications need to be there. In your case I'm can only assume that the reinfection had something to do with it since I don't see applications installed that are crazywinnings related. As far as all those other entries go, don't mess with them. I have many on my PC also. Rogue
